event also expanded its coverage of electronic manufacturing services.

New Technologies A myriad of technologies could

be seen on the busy show floor. Met- cal exhibited its Connection Valida- tion (CV) CV-5210 soldering system with new hand-pieces, while Scien- scope highlighted its AXC-800 II X- ray component counting system and discussed its importance in the fully automated factory and Industry 4.0. Juki Automation Systems Inc. de- buted its fast, smart, modular RS-1 XL system for optimal mounting of small parts. This system provides the speed and flexibility for high-quality production of any PCB. Viscom showcased its innova-

tive vVerify verification station and debuted online training for it. Visi- tors were able to view live demos, showing how easy it is to classify an- alytical results with vVerify. Addi- tionally, CyberOptics showed its high-precision 3D sensing technology solutions, and optical control exhibit- ed its popular OC-SCAN®CCX.3 com- ponent counter with automatic load- ing/unloading and offline station. SEHO displayed the StartSelec-

tive, which provides new users with an ideal start into automated selec- tive soldering, because it is a plug- and-produce concept that allows pro- duction to begin immediately. KYZEN introduced Germany to its award-winning AQUANOX A4727, the company’s next-generation aque- ous assembly cleaner. Meanwhile, at the Mirtec Eu-

rope booth, visitors were able to watch the award-winning MV-6 OM- NI in action. This system combines the company’s proprietary 12 projec- tion OMNI-VISION® 3D digital tri- frequency moiré technology with an exclusive 15 MP CoaXPress camera system to yield precise 3D height measurement data, which is used to detect lifted component and lifted

lead defects as well as solder volume post-reflow. Laserssel showcased a laser se-

lective reflow system that is designed to deliver a uniform defocused laser beam over a specifically tailored area on a PCB. PVA showed its Delta 8 se- lective coating/dispensing system and Delta 6 robotic conformal coat- ing/dispensing systems, and Ther- maltronics highlighted the TMT- 9800S hand soldering robot product line. Additionally, Thermaltronics provided an extended range of acces- sories to support both production and rework applications. Anda’s award-winning cleaning

and conformal coating equipment was on display, including the iCoat-5 con- formal coating system and the AP-460 cleaning system. TechValley, a new- comer to SMTconnect, launched its automatic X-ray inspection solution to the European market. More details about this innovative system will be available in the company’s booth at productronica.

Further Highlights Three of Nordson Corporation’s

divisions, YESTECH, DAGE and MATRIX, were colocated convenient- ly to allow visitors to the booth to learn more about their test and in- spection systems. Nordson DAGE de- buted its Explorer One, a super-com- pact X-ray inspection system for the electronics industry, which offers market-leading image quality for fea- tures down to two microns in size. Additionally, Inovaxe displayed

its InoAuto SMART storage solu- tions, including reel storage, stencil storage, MSD storage and more. Es- semtec demonstrated its smart and highly flexible SMT solutions, includ- ing assembly, dispensing, reflow, and storage. IBL discussed vapor phase soldering with the BLC 420 batch soldering machine, and KIC demon- strated its Industry 4.0 solution — RPI i4.0, which is an easy, built-in solution for automation, traceability, advanced reflow data collection, and sharing for smart factory integra- tion, while IDENTCO showcased its
