Kubler Offers Smart Component Storage

family business based in Germany. Kübler GmbH has been offering inno- vative solutions for electronics manu- facturing for more than 30 years. The compa- ny works closely with long-standing partners to provide not only the innovative products and services but also the trust and support that its customers need to succeed in estab- lished and new sectors.

“The company was founded in 1989 by my father, Hans Kübler,” says Boris Kübler, managing director. “At that time the SMD technology was newly emerging. One of the reasons he founded the company was to offer customers in Germany new solutions for SMD technology.”

Boris has been the managing director for five years, though he’s worked at the compa- ny for 20. Through growing knowledge and further development on the market, as well as a curiosity for new technologies and ap- proaches, he’s been able to use his strengths to improve the company.

Over the last 30 years, the company’s mission has been to offer high-tech solutions with added value for customers, which now

includes close to a dozen industry-leading companies. In this mix is Arcadia, known for its Archimede smart storage system.

Smart Component Storage

“We got to know Arcadia at a previous productronica exhibition in Munich. Here our partnership for distribution in Germany

began,” says Kübler. “The start with Arcadia was very successful and continues according- ly, which we are pleased about. We had been looking for a smart storage system for a long time. Arcadia offers us the best solution in terms of price/performance ratio. Therefore, it was clear that they would enter a partner- ship here without hesitation.”

Recently, Kübler noticed that many companies have focused on the performance of the SMD line itself, neglecting warehous- ing in many cases. However, it is clear that much time is lost in picking material for se- tups, and this can be reduced significantly with automated and smart systems. Of course, the price/performance ratio always plays a role, which is absolutely pro- vided with Arcadia. The Archimede smart storage system is an LED and sensor-based system. The rolls are stored after the barcode has been scanned and the storage location is recognized by a sensor. When the rolls are re- trieved, the operator is informed by an LED which rolls have to be retrieved for the next
