August 2025 PEMTRON Offers 3D Inspection with AI
GARDENA, CA — PEMTRON’s lineup is designed to meet the in- creasing quality and reliability demands of industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical, and advanced electronics. The ATHENA 3D AOI sys-
tem combines precise 3D meas- urement with AI-driven features like automatic defect judgment, teaching, and OCR. Its 12-way projection eliminates shadowing for highly accurate results, and its modular platform supports resolutions of 10/15 µm or 18 µm, along with optional high-resolu- tion camera upgrades and three-
stage conveyors. The JUPITER 3D AXI sys-
tem leverages advanced PCT (phase contrast tomography) and
2D/3D X-ray imaging to deliver in-depth analysis of internal de- fects. Seamlessly integrated with PEMTRON’s AOI algorithms, JUPITER enables synchronized SPI/AOI/AXI data sharing for smarter inspection and real-time process feedback. The TWIN 3D AOI system

inspects both sides of a PCB in one pass, increasing efficiency and eliminating the need for board flipping. With enhanced optics and 3D imaging, it en- sures reliable defect detection on densely populated and double- sided boards.
The SATURN 3D SPI sys-
tem delivers accurate solder paste inspection using quad moiré projection, rich 2D color imaging, and detailed 3D profil- ing. Available with resolutions of 10/15 µm or 18 µm and up to a 10 MP camera, SATURN ensures consistent solder paste volume, height, and area — critical for process control and yield. PEMTRON’s TROI 8800 CCI
system performs high-accuracy inspection of conformal coatings using advanced optics and option- al inline thickness measurement. Its AI-enhanced software identi- fies common coating issues such as voids, bubbles, and uneven coverage, supporting high-relia-
bility product requirements. Contact: PEMTRON Tech-

velopment and manufacturing of high-end solder balls used in ad- vanced packaging formats such as FCCSP and WLCSP. PMTC is recognized globally by major IC design houses and packaging com- panies for its patented, high-relia- bility solder alloys that offer excel- lent ductility, thermal fatigue re- sistance, and drop performance. As part of its expanded focus

on eco-conscious and high-relia- bility materials, PMTC has intro- duced a new patented low-tem- perature solder alloy called E4 (Sn47.875Bi+Ag+Cu+In+Ni), which is designed for tempera- ture-sensitive assemblies and car- bon-reducing manufacturing en- vironments. With a reflow peak temperature of £356°F (£180°C), the E4 alloy supports lower ener- gy consumption while maintain- ing high reliability. The alloy’s low melting point
and stable microstructure make it ideal for low-temperature re- flow processes in high-density assemblies, enabling better pro-
