NOVEMBER 2022 THE RIDER /37 $42,100 OTF Grant Gives Equestrian Association for Disabled a Lift

Mount Hope, ON – On Friday September 30th, local MPP Donna Skelly met with the team at TEAD to see firsthand how the $42,100 Community Building Fund – Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) was used to install a mounting ramp and

make accessibility upgrades to the riding arena. The project was completed this summer and will give people in the community improved access to programs at the Centre for years to come. “I want to congratulate

T.E.A.D. for being the success-

ful recipient of the OTF Com- munity Building Capital Grant,” said Donna Skelly, MPP for Flamborough-Glan- brook. “Over the years, your dedicated staff and volunteers have done incredible work to help build confidence and self- esteem in children and adults with developmental disabili- ties.”

In addition to the installa-

tion of an accessible mounting ramp, arena upgrades including new kickboards and redesigned viewing area also were possi- ble. All therapeutic riders will benefit from having an easier mounting experience. And thanks to the $42,100 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, people of all abili- ties will be able to mount safely. “The impact of this On-

tario Trillium Foundation grant makes riding here at TEAD even more accessible,” said Sue Schramayr, Chair of the TEAD Board. “This grant has allowed much needed renovations to be made. Our ramp is completely accessible and we can now ac- commodate everyone with mo- bility issues and serve our community better.” If you wish to enquire
