Coming Soon to CRHRA Members

CRHRA and BFL came together to

create a certificate as proof of insurance that will be sent out to each member that joins CRHRA which started April 1, 2022. With the upgrade of our system we are now also able to go back to Jan- uary 1, 2022 and issue the same certifi- cates to those members as well. This is going to take some time as we had a lot of members join up to April 1. What the certificates will do is to allow any CRHRA member to book camping at areas that require you to belong to an Organization. A further benefit to our members

is the New Creation of the CRHRA Trail Community. Once you join CRHRA you automatically become a member of the CRHRA Trail Community which gives you the benefit of belonging to an organ- ization that provides the insurance cer- tificate for camping purposes. CRHRA Trail Community will

also have a Facebook page where people can post rides they are going to and of- fering others to join the ride. You must then send a email to crhratrailcommu- nity@gmail.com registering your atten- dance at the ride including you CRHRA

membership/certificate # with contact information, Name, email, phone. Any one that is not a CRHRA

member can attend but they will not be covered under the CRHRA Certificate if something goes wrong while attending the ride or camping. Non members must register as well. You must comply with any rules

that the area you are riding or camping in has. This information should be avail-

able when the ride/camping is posted on the Face Book Page CRHRATrailCom- munity. Any other necessary information

will be posted. There will be no one to check you in, it is an honor system that is why you must register so we know who is to attend should something go wrong. The facebook page is only pro- viding information not for comments or other postings. When you register you can ask

specific questions then. Once all the certificates are out we

will look into expanding the benefits for January 2023 around this such as post- ings about going on a ride willing to share my trailer if you live in my area. Traveling out of province looking

for areas to stay while on the road with your horse etc. Or taking a driving va- cation wanting areas to stay that offer guided trail rides. Week long camping adventures by horse back and pack

horses. Looking for a new horse or a cer-

tain breed of horse. Have moved to a new area can

anyone recommend a Farrier or where the trails are. The Ontario Trails Council has lists of trails all over Ontario and is always looking to update its list along with camping areas. Please send your trail info to them . Please comment on their website through a google review at https://g.page/r/cq9K9pdh HGTEBO as it helps them provide the information re- quired to make trails better and provides funding for them. If you have family/friends riding

buddies in other provinces have them send their trail info to Patrick Connor president@crhra.ca he is building a list for our website. He is working on a Tourism initiative. The Ontario Trails Council is look-

ing for board members for their Sept AGM for a two year term. Board expe- rience is preferred but not necessary. They are looking for a treasurer with bookkeeping experience and a member- ship person with invoicing experience. The ability to follow up with the in- voices with phone calls after 30, 60 and 90 days. Please send your information to Bonnie 4trailbs@gmail.com They have board meetings once a

month by conference or zoom. CRHRA and OTC work closely to- gether concerning multi-use trails so that

horses are not excluded in any new trail development in this province and keep- ing trails open. They have a huge con- tact list!!! CRHRA are also looking for board

members with or without board experi- ence for our October 2, 2022 AGM, If interested contact Bonnie operations- managercrhra@gmail.com Our board meetings are by confer-

ence call when needed. Each board member has a job which they devote their time to. Example Liz does data searching. John goes to all the shows in his area and talks about CRHRA bene- fits like the rest of the board members. Heather is secretary. We look forward to hearing from you. Our upgrades to the system have

made the membership part much easier. Some changes were made that you have to purchase life saving surgery and horse mortality together. Can not be purchased separately anymore. Note you do not need to purchase for each individual horse. You are only able to claim once a year for any one of your horses. If you want to cover all your horses individu- ally contact BFL for a separate policy. Barb our membership gall is great and will help you if you make a mistake. Re- member we have office hours not open 24 hours a day to take your call. The website is open 24 hours a day to take you membership. Barb tries to return calls and messages within 48 hours.

We are also looking for volunteers to do some data gathering from other provinces. Please contact Bonnie at op- erationsmanagercrhra@gmail.com for details. Further to the information I pro-

vided in the last article about feeding horses haylage I have included a link to the OMAFRA site that goes into detail- ing the possible problems arising from the

haylage fed to horses.

http://www.omafra.gov.ca/english/live- stock/horses/facts/infor_haylage.htm http://www.omafara.gov.on.ca/english/li vestock/horses/facts/info/botulism.htm Please read and be sure this is an

option for your horse. The price of hay and all other feed will be on the rise again due to fuel and possible weather conditions. Ride Safe!! Ride Smart!!! The

Pandemic is not over so please use masks and distance protocols.
