JUNE 2022 THE RIDER /17 ORHA Spring Thaw Show and 2021 Awards We had amazing weather


for the first show of the year at Fletchers Horseworld and a great


turnout of horses that competed in 3 days of amazing reining! It was great to see many of our


members that have been limited in the amount of shows they could attend during all of the Covid concerns over the last cou- ple of years finally get to start the show season on time! Friday


saw our


Becky and Scarlet Ros won tons of awards in Non/Pro and Youth!!


Mens/Ladies combo class with nearly 50 entries and everyone trying to get ready for day 2 of the show. All classes on Saturday were very competitive and we ended the day with an amazing Pot Luck dinner, a birthday party for John Fletcher and Rosemary Hilbert and our 2021 awards were given out to all of the Champion and Reserve Champi- ons, a big thankyou to everyone that sponsored class awards, to Skyline Silversmiths for the al- ways amazing buckles, to MIA designs for the beautiful saddle blanket bags and vests, and


Buckskin Design for always making beautiful leather awards! Gary and Kerri from G&K


Training Centre and Tack who are always big supporters of the ORHA , as well as Malcom from The Sliding Stop Tack who had lots of great products for sale. Leslie McNeil was on hand


doing PEMF therapy sessions to keep ponies happy! An incredible continental


breakfast Saturday/ Sunday was supplied by Dareth Miller / Pharma Link and was enjoyed by everyone. Sunday was just as nice as


you could ask for at a horse show, weather was great and all the horses were tuned up and ready for the final day! It was certainly a nice way


to start the show season for the ORHA with well attended classes

Ancaster’s “Blame It On My Roots” Gala is a Blast!


The Ancaster Agricultural Society celebrated the Grand Opening of the Agricultural Event Center with their “Blame It On My Roots” Gala on May 28th. 650 guests enjoyed Hors d’oeuvres, dinner,


entertainment, live music, swag and prizes in the new 75,000 sqft facility. The Ancaster Ag Society planned and executed the evening with chairs of the committee being Allan Payne and Paul Gibbons. AAS President Andrew Yeudall, pictured above right with facility manager Tammy Quinn, steer headed the construction this past year. Dinner was catered by Fig & Lemon. The band, pictured above left, was Jane’s Party. Décor was courtesy of AAS volunteers, Party Balloons by Hamilton Games, AAS Junior Directors and Grand River Party.
