PRODUCT FOCUS: WET ROOMS
A FAST SECURE WAY TO WATERPROOF A
WET ROOM Kerakoll’s Laminate No Crack Waterproofing system with Kerakoll Aquastop Green allows wet room floors to be waterproofed fast and effectively even when the screed has signs of shrinkage, cracking or contains residual moisture. It is safe for foot traffic immediately allowing other trades to finish off without having to wait for the adhesive to dry.
Apply a layer of Biogel No Limits or Biogel Revolution on to Keracem Eco, or any suitable screed, and bed Kerakoll Aquastop Green Waterproofing & Uncoupling Membrane into the adhesive to adhere the membrane to the screed, leaving a 5mm spacing gap between all joints of the membrane. Next, cover the joints, edges and corners of the Aquastop Green membrane with Kerakoll Aquastop Fix and bed in Kerakoll Aquastop 120 waterproofing tape to ensure water-tightness. Aquastop Fix is a waterproofing product which uses nano-technology to make the joints of the Aquastop Green totally water-repellent and give it high chemical stability.
There is no waiting time before laying coverings on top of Aquastop Fix, so you can fix the tiles immediately using Biogel No Limits or Revolution to
TANKING A WET ROOM
WITH TILEMASTER Tilemaster Adhesives has the perfect products to waterproof a wet room. Tilemaster Tanking Paste is a fast-drying product that is applied without priming, as a single coat to produce a barrier to moisture with enough built-in flexibility to accommodate the range of movement present in structurally stable floors, walls and shower cubicles. It is suitable for use in wet rooms, steam rooms and other areas subject to prolonged wet conditions, and seals and stabilises substrates before tiles are applied. It should be used in conjunction with Tilemaster Tanking Tape, a fleece tape for reinforcing and adding extra stability to corners and internal junctures,

create a secure adhesive bond between the tiles and membrane.
Then, waterproofing of the wet room walls can begin using Nanodefense Eco, a single component waterproofing product that has very low levels of VOCs. It is applied with a roller directly on to the levelled walls and any joints are taped with Aquastop 120 before fixing tiles with Biogel No Limits or Revolution. Once the adhesive has set, use Fugabella Color grout to grout the joints and Silicone Color to fill the movement joints for both walls and floors and to create a waterproof seal on all internal corners and junctures.
The Aquastop Green Membrane
The Aquastop Green membrane is composed of three layers – the first has hydrophobic PA fibres which ensure a secure bond with the tile adhesive as well as restricting water movement in the adhesive, the second layer is an HDPE waterproof structure which accommodates movement within the substrate and
and pre-formed corner pieces which further reinforce the most vulnerable parts of the system. These products are all sold separately, or can be purchased together in the handy Tilemaster Tanking Kit which gives you everything that you need to waterproof your wet room. A self- adhesive version of the tape, Tilemaster Self Adhesive Tanking Tape, is also available for use where appropriate.
Tiles can then be fixed after approximately three hours when the Tanking Paste is dry, using a suitable flexible adhesive such as the Tilemaster Setaflex ranges and the installation finished with Grout 3000 and Silicone 3000+.

compensates for stresses caused by hyrgrometric shrinkage and cracks. The third layer is a non- woven breathable fabric which allows vapour to disperse. Together these create an uncoupling membrane that allows safe installation of tiles and stone over showing signs of cracking and uncured screeds where waterproofing is required.
