Abingdon Flooring Aces The Flooring Show

Picking up a Flooring Innovation Award for the pioneering StainFree Twist collection wasn’t the only highlight for Abingdon Flooring at this year’s Flooring Show, with the British manufacturer showing off a number of key developments in the halls of the Harrogate Convention Centre.

The original easy-clean carpet, StainFree, was presented in its fourth generation with Abingdon showing StainFree Twist and StainFree Ultra ranges in a finer 1/10th gauge velvet using an improved, softer polypropylene yarn. With an updated colourbank and a new fitter- friendly fleece backing, these multi-width (2.5, 4 and 5m) styles still benefit from the StainFree for Life promise against all food and drink spillages. In 20 on- trend colours, Twist and Ultra are now even more obtainable thanks to a more competitive price-point.

Also previewing a brand-new colour palette for StainFree Tweed in the same, finer 1/10th gauge, along with updated colours for StainFree Arena Plus, Abingdon Flooring reasserted the brand as the UK’s most popular stain- resistant carpet collection.

For its Wilton Royal collection of luxurious woven British wool carpets, Abingdon unveiled the brand-new Royal Charter and Balmoral ranges. Demonstrating that the need to make

carpets softer and finer than ever before is just as relevant for natural fibres, these new styles deliver comfort and resilience at their best. Using Meltbond for a finer velvet finish and in a modern palette, Royal Charter and Balmoral are available in 40oz and 50oz qualities with multiple widths (2.5, 4 and 5m).

Martin Peace, Sales Director, commented on the show: “We had an exceptional Harrogate this year and the response we received to the softer feel of our updated StainFree and new Wilton Royal styles was really satisfying. It just goes to show, whether polypropylene or wool, soft velvet finishes are certainly in high demand and we’re expecting these products to enjoy a really strong response when they hit stores later this year.”

New Residue Remover Joins LTP Range

LTP has launched a new Cement, Grout & Salt Residue Remover. The new product replaces conventional acids normally used to remove cement and grout residues, and can be used on all types of tile and natural stone surfaces, except those with a polished finish. This means it can be safely applied to unpolished acid-sensitive surfaces, including limestone and travertine. As well as removing new and existing building residues, the new treatment also disperses rising salt residues caused by issues including substrate moisture and spot fixing.

of the Abingdon Carpet Tile Division with the exclusive reveal of loop-pile polypropylene and nylon carpet tiles. With a mix of practical linear designs and plain colours, the division is presenting a hardwearing, easy to maintain answer for offices, playgroups, nurseries, schools and healthcare locations.

Rounding out an extraordinarily busy Harrogate for the British manufacturer, Abingdon Flooring showed a broader palette for the highly successful Love Story collection of ultra-soft polyester carpets. Strikingly branded, Deep Feelings and Lasting Romance were shown-off in a modern 16-strong colourbank, including four on-trend greys. To ensure even more appeal, both ranges are now available in multiple widths (2.5, 4 and 5m).

Developed and manufactured in the UK, the new Residue Remover can be used indoors and outside on porcelain, glazed ceramics, quarry tiles and terracotta, slate, brick, sandstone, granite and unpolished natural stone. A diluted application removes mild residue within 30 minutes, whilst a neat application and agitation gives instant results. Deposits are then removed and surfaces rinsed with clean water.

The new treatment forms part of LTP’s ‘clean-seal-maintain’ range. It’s available in one litre and five litre cartons and gives coverage of approximately 5-25m2

per litre. www.ltp-online.co.uk www.tomorrowsretailfloors.com
