The Nike Jordan rug is just one of many fashion-related creations from Madeline. Each piece is carefully thought out and crafted, taking between two hours to two weeks to make depending on the size and complexity of each rug. Madeline said that the average 2ft rug will take around four or five hours to complete, and up to a fortnight for larger pieces. With the rugs proving so popular, Madeline has also expanded her portfolio with additions including mirrors and purses.
“Most of my inspiration comes from fashion and fashion trends. I love the different colors, textures, and patterns in fashion and I am always looking for ways to incorporate it into my rugs,” Madeline said.

Whilst tufting is currently a hobby-turned-side-business for Madeline alongside her studies, she is definitely considering it in her future plans and hopes to inspire others along the way.
When asked about her next steps, Madeline said: “This is something that I am extremely passionate about. After I graduate this summer, I plan to continue to make rugs, collaborate with other artists and brands, and grow my business. I can’t say whether this will be my career for the rest of my life, as it is something that arose so fast and suddenly, but I am certain that it will lead me in the right direction. I am excited to learn along the way, take opportunities as they come, and hopefully be an inspiration for others.
“I am constantly learning as I go and I hope to one day share my process in detail with others on YouTube or through classes.”
