BATHROOMS STEP INSIDE k or Gone for Good?

day’s households if properly maintained? We asked a team of experts, from for their opinion and advice on the topic.

, budget-friendly underfoot solution. These days, however, with plenty of easy-to-clean, warm r washroom areas. This is so much the case now that, in modern houses, it is unlikely that you hether carpet can be practical in a bathroom and if it will ever make a resurgence. We posed

Another advantage is that you will reduce the chances of bath slips if you have small children, or much older people and prevent a lot of accidents.

While carpet in the bathroom is very luxurious and comfortable, there are some matters you need to consider before making a decision.

Te only ting beter tan a nice shower aſter a long day is having a nice, cosy surface to step out onto.

Below are the measures and operation needed to keep a bathroom carpet in perfect condition. We can assure you that if you follow these steps, your bathroom carpet will be flawless.

Choose manmade materials like 100% nylon, polyester, Triexta Polyester, or polypropylene, making sure to avoid carpet made from natural materials such as wool. A low-pile carpet will absorb less moisture and will therefore dry faster and cause fewer problems. Another way to minimise moisture in a bathroom is by airing the bathroom out or purchasing a dehumidifier if needed and a wet-vac may soon become your best friend. Dry-vacuum the carpet regularly to eliminate dust and light debris and prevent build-ups.

Yes - If appropriately treated Byron Dixon OBE, CEO of international freshness

brandMicro-Fresh http://microfresh.com/

Carpet is highly-susceptible to bacteria growth. On a fabric surface, bacteria takes just 20 minutes to multiply and within an hour there could be as many as one million bacteria living on your carpet.

These bacteria colonies form a biofilm on your carpet which is unnoticeable to the naked eye and very difficult to remove once it is in situ.

The natural humidity in bathrooms only exacerbates this problem, and steam cleaning or scrubbing the carpet with disinfectant can only do so much.

A much more effective way to tackle the problem is to ensure that carpets and bathmats are treated with an anti-bacterial agent in the manufacturing process. It is a case of prevention being better than the cure.

I originally developed Micro-Fresh as an anti-mould agent in 2006, before discovering its ability to prevent the growth of bacteria and turning the technology into an internationally- applied ingredient brand.
