WHAT’S NEW?
A FUTURE-FACING SOLUTION FOR WASHROOMS IN
EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS As 9 million pupils return to education for the new academic year, Northwood Hygiene Products Ltd is helping FMs ensure washrooms are equipped to keep COVID-19 at bay. But the education sector, like many others, must also keep costs under control and strive to reduce its carbon footprint.
Northwood Hygiene Products Ltd has the ideal solution for educational and student facilities with its North Shore premium proprietary washroom dispenser and consumables system. The system, which blends sustainability and cost efficiency with hygiene-promoting features, is used in washrooms in educational settings and other sectors across Europe.
Clean
North Shore offers numerous hygiene-credentials. For instance, its No Touch Dispensing Options ensure the user only touches the paper they are presented with and the dispensers themselves are durable and easy to wipe, preventing the spread of bacteria.
The toilet rolls in the dispensers are individually wrapped to keep them hygienically clean, while the soap dispensers come with anti-bacterial and sanitiser options - each carton including a new nozzle to further reduce the risk of harbouring germs.
North Shore dispensers are cleverly designed to be low maintenance which minimises the amount of time janitorial staff need to spend replenishing them, so they can focus on the task of maintaining higher than usual levels of cleanliness throughout their facilities.
North Shore also offers washboards free of charge to help promote good hand hygiene.
Cost efficient
At the heart of the North Shore brand is the Orbit. A four-roll dispenser, it boasts an impressive

capacity of up to 5,000 sheets giving significant cost-in-use benefits. The system is low maintenance, requiring less frequent replenishment, making it better for the environment too.
In addition to the Orbit, North Shore offers the compact Side- by-Side toilet roll dispenser with its 2,500-sheet capacity, two different high- capacity roll towel dispensers, a Hands-Free roll towel dispenser and the premium towel on demand Hybrid dispenser.
Minimising waste and over-use is vital to reducing costs and improving environmental credentials, and with North Shore 100% of the paper is used. Both the Orbit and Side-by- Side toilet roll dispensers prevent ‘free rolling’ and only allow access to the next roll once the current one has been fully used.
Similarly, the Mechanical Hands- Free roll towel dispenser presents towels as flat sheets to reduce demand and only allows for stub roll transfer once the last piece of paper has been used. In addition, towels are cut at economical lengths and dispensers provide tension to further reduce unnecessary use. To minimise mess in the washroom, the 1250-shot capacity soap dispensers are non-drip too.
All North Shore dispensers are lockable to prevent theft and vandalism and are provided free-on- loan to end users.
Sustainable
As the UK moves to meet its target of ‘net zero’ emissions by 2050, sustainability remains a priority
for all sectors and Northwood Hygiene Products Ltd is helping its customers reduce their carbon footprints by developing products with strong green credentials.
All North Shore packaging (including cardboard cores, cardboard cartons and paper and plastic wraps) is fully recyclable. Plastic inserts are made from recycled bottle tops and are recyclable and soap cartridges are also made from recycled plastic and are recyclable. Even the dispensers can be recycled at the end of their lives. In addition, all North Shore paper and soap products are manufactured in the UK, minimising the brand’s carbon footprint. More than 90% of North Shore products sold are made from 100% recycled material with Forest Stewardship Council®
(FSC® ) certification.
At a time when the need for hygiene, sustainability and economy has never been greater, North Shore from Northwood Hygiene Products Ltd is helping to move washroom hygiene forward.
