institutions, is that there is no large initial investment or upfront costs delivering an immediate and significant cost benefit. Fast-deployment also reduces the risk of non- compliance with the RR(FS)O.
Article 21 of the RR(FS)O states that the Responsible Person must ensure that employees are provided with adequate safety training. accordance with Government guidelines, following social distancing measures and always using masks, gloves, and disinfectant sprays.
Evaccess and TripleAconsult believe that the challenges of evacuating disabled people can be met through the use of high-quality technical solutions in a cost-effective manner.
A highly-flexible, web-enabled, database-driven platform, Portillon, built on a shared infrastructure, is being launched in the new year by TripleAconsult. Portillon is cloud-based, rather than purchased and downloaded or installed locally and will host multiple, integrated applications.
The first stage applications deliver database-driven PEEPS, Fire Risk Assessments and Access Assessments and provide management and escalation of actions; tracking of issues; embedding of photos; videos and voice memos, in addition to multiple user sign-off. Most importantly for responsible persons, Portillon provides an immutable data audit trail of actions for use as a defence of due diligence in the event of a prosecution for non-compliance.
Portillon applications will be available under Software- as-a-Service (SaaS) licencing agreements offering a connection and subscription. The benefit to educational

TripleAconsult is again taking the initiative by converting the successful two-day, instructor-led PEEPs for professionals training course into six hours of gold- standard e-learning (anytime, any place). The course consists of interactive learning, animations, activities, group discussions, the awarding of CDP points and accreditation by relevant organisations. Subject matter covers legislation, guidance, the impact of disability on evacuation, how to adjust the physical environment, how to develop a PEEP and strategic planning.
Few non-disabled people would be willing to live, work or study in an environment where there is no means of escape during a fire. At Evaccess and TripleAconsult, we passionately believe that our combined approach enables organisations to meet both their legal challenges and moral duty to protect disabled students, staff and visitors, in parallel with protecting Responsible Persons.
