Hello and welcome to the July issue of Tomorrow’s FM.
When the pandemic hit in early 2020, the impact on industries across the FM sector was near universal. There is an argument to be made that one of the most affected industries was Catering. Pre-Covid, the industry had managed to place sustainability front and centre of its operations, decreasing food waste and reducing carbon footprints seemed to be taking precedence, but when the virus hit, simply keeping businesses afloat became the most integral thing.

Now though, “it is time to pick up the pieces and check back on the ever- important drive towards sustainability”. In this issue, for our Catering feature, Tomorrow’s FM spoke to a range of experts on the state of sustainability across the sector to gauge the current landscape and where it goes next. You can check out the views of Atalian Servest, Elior and Electronic Temperature Instruments on page 40.
We also take a deep dive into Health, Safety and Wellbeing in this month’s issue. With a continued drive for consumer goods, Ben Hancock, Managing Director of Oscar Acoustics, explains why acoustic management needs to be considered as warehouse floor space proliferates. Darragh Geoghegan, VP of Revenue Operations at EcoOnline, highlights why companies now need to implement a robust Environmental Health & Safety programme and Pippa Boothman, VP Marketing & Communications at Disruptive Technologies, takes a look at how smart technology will integrate into contemporary work environments to help improve safety and wellbeing and guard against the next Covid-19.
Social Housing & Community Facilities and Landscape & Grounds Maintenance features make up the rest of our feature content this month. There’s a lot to explore as you lie on a beach, soaking in the sun.
Enjoy the read.
