AIRDRI LAUNCHES AIR PURIFIER TO FLUSH AWAY

WASHROOM BACTERIA Airdri, a designer and manufacturer of hand dryers, has added a new air purifier unit to its portfolio to help tackle washroom bacteria and eliminate odours.

Complementing its range of hand drying solutions, the Airdri Air Purifier uses custom thermal convection technology to kill airborne and surface bacteria and viruses, eliminating the bad odours they cause, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Offering both odour and infection control, the unit is ideal for use in busy washrooms. Its compact profile means it can sit discretely in the top corner of a washroom, yet can service the entire space, covering a floor area

of up to 30m2 .

With minimal maintenance and low energy consumption of 10w, the Airdri Air Purifier is a green solution for providing constant sanitised washroom air.

Trudi Osborne, Marketing Manager at Airdri, said: “Washrooms are the primary source of infections, with many housing bacteria and viruses that are unseen to the eye. Given that

A key factor in combatting climate change is improving your site efficiency. Just a few days ago, audit watchdog FRC called for firms to do more and improve transparent reporting on environmental issues.

COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND REDUCE OVERHEADS

WITH ON-SITE EFFICIENCY With climate change at the forefront of the heated global debate, businesses and buyers are keen to establish planet-friendly credentials.

As business leaders, we’re responsible for our planet and accountable to our stakeholders, staff and customers to operate a business model that is conscious of its impact on the environment – and maximises its profits.

Failure to combat climate change within your organisation can damage your reputation and restrict your profits as increasingly climate-conscious

customers go looking for greener businesses. Not only will site efficiency contribute to combatting climate change, but it will also demonstrate your corporate social responsibility and cut costs.

Some of the things you can do to reduce your overheads and your environmental impact include:

• Use LED lights or natural lighting. • Incorporate lighting sensors/timers.

• Reduce or eliminate paper usage, dual sided printing and recycling.

in just eight hours a single bacterium can multiply into over eight million cells, it is vital to ensure washrooms are kept clean and hygienic at all times. Cleaning and disinfecting alone are only a partial solution - they do not stop ongoing surface contamination or tackle airborne bacteria.

“The Airdri Air Purifier kills both surface and airborne bacteria, removing the unpleasant odours that they bring with them. The unit processes contaminated air in the purifying chamber, emitting an efficient cleaning agent. Other solutions, which may feature a HEPA filter or have an antibacterial coating, only clean the area immediately surrounding the dryer.”

• Upgrade recycling efforts on glass, plastic and aluminium.

• Turn off electrical appliances when not in use.

• Reuse packaging materials and source alternatives to plastics.

• Heat pumps can reduce your electricity usage by up to 50%.

• Refine your environmental policies and create an awareness culture amongst your staff.

• Reduce heating bills with proper insulation.

• Modulate the amount of primary cooling air delivered to a space.

• Utilise online sharing rather than printing.

• Evaluate control protocols.

Running an efficient site will save significant amounts of money and demonstrate your environmental ethics.

Colin Trowell of Artic Building Services, commented: “If you don’t already, establish a Hard FM solution including Energy Management at its core. The key to success in the maintenance sector is the specialised process of integrating the key skillsets of energy management and mechanical and electrical services.”
