About this Product/Service
Northwood introduced its Green Loop recycling package in 2023 to help make it easier than ever before to recycle waste products in washrooms and help customers to lower their waste footprint. Focusing on plastics, this full-circle service has continued to expand and evolve since and now has more than 250 users on board.
Under the scheme, customers can simply remove the plastic inserts from the cardboard core when a toilet roll or towel roll is finished and drop it into a dedicated recycling bin before being returned to Northwood. The plastic inserts are then recycled to make new raw material which can be used for future inserts.
The package has now been extended to include paper hand towel recycling and stub roll recycling. Northwood takes these often-unrecycled items from washrooms and turns them into raw materials to create future sustainable washroom hygiene products.
The paper is collected from recycling bins and sorted before recycling through one of Northwood’s UK paper mills before being made into Northwood’s recycled paper hygiene products.
Northwood also offers a dispenser recycling service where it removes old soap and paper dispensers from customer premises and recycles them. The plastic recovered from the dispensers is recycled via Northwood’s supply chain partners and made into new Northwood products - all helping to divert more plastic from landfill. Northwood has already recycled more than a tonne of plastic from over 1000 dispensers.
