ADVERTORIAL

medical-grade liquid, foam and gel hand care formulations in Diversey’s Soft Care and SURE ranges.

Products are supplied in 1.3 litre interchangeable pouches. This means they need replacing less often which reduces the risk of product running out, the need for time- consuming handling and storage tasks, and allows teams to switch between formulations without reconfiguring their equipment. The dispenser delivers a precise dosage for the best combination of efficacy and cost control and switches seamlessly from touchless to manual mode if its battery runs down to allow continued hand hygiene compliance.

Surface disinfection Diversey products containing patented Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) offer an effective surface disinfection alternative to formulations with chlorine compounds as the active ingredient. These disinfectants – tested to the latest EN standards - are highly effective against a wide range of viruses, spores, yeasts, and fungi found in healthcare settings.

AHP is a patented blend of commonly used, safe ingredients that when combined with low levels of hydrogen peroxide dramatically increase its germicidal potency and cleaning performance. For example, one study (Michelle Alfa, St Boniface Hospital, Canada, 2014) showed that AHP reduced the prevalence of healthcare associated infections by 20%. In a presentation at APIC 2012, Dr William Rutala showed that AHP is significantly superior to standard hydrogen peroxide at the same concentration and also superior to QUAT-based disinfectants. The active ingredient, hydrogen peroxide, degrades into environmentally-friendly water and oxygen shortly after use. This helps make Oxivir products safe on a wide range of surfaces in healthcare.

Oxivir Excel is a fast-acting cleaner disinfectant that can replace general surface cleaning products for routine tasks. Effective against viruses in just 30 seconds, it provides affordable ongoing infection protection. Oxivir Sporicide is a ready to use one step hospital-grade, cleaner disinfectant with excellent response against hard to kill pathogens such as C. diff, Bacillus subtilis and other multiple drug resistant organisms (MDROs).

Diversey’s latest surface disinfection technologies - Moonbeam3 and SKY – add powerful UV-C light technology to its infection prevention capabilities.

UV-C penetrates and destroys the DNA of pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and spores which causes them to die. This offers facilities a completely hands, chemical and fume-free way to implement safer high-performance disinfection.

Moonbeam3 delivers on-demand, broad area disinfection of high-touch surfaces in as little as 90 seconds. It is ideal for surfaces accidentally missed during regular cleaning and for frequently-touched, hard-to-clean surfaces and intricate equipment. SKY is designed to disinfect mobile devices including smart phones and tablets. Effective in one minute or less, it achieves an up to 5-log reduction in harmful pathogens. During 2018 Diversey is offering a free SKY unit when customers purchase two Moonbeam3 systems.

Diversey continues to offer customers an extensive – and growing – range of products that enable healthcare teams to introduce highly effective cleaning, hygiene and infection prevention strategies using the right choice and combination for their specific requirements. The company supports all of its products with unrivalled documentation, technical support, applications expertise and insight that helps customers achieve the highest possible outcomes.
