FLOORING RETAILER REMODELLED UK luxury vinyl flooring provider Karndean, is featured as part


of the newly-designed stores for Ireland’s largest men’s brand, Best Menswear. Find out more about why it’s so important to carry your brand aesthetics through your premises‘ flooring when refurbishing.


Best Menswear opted for Karndean’s Opus stone and Knight Tile for the remodelling of their stores in Swords Pavillions, Blanchards Town Shopping Centre, and Stillorgan Shopping centre, revealing a fresh, striking design that befits an outlet providing high quality international brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Lacoste.


Co-designed by Store Design and Best Menswear’s in house team, the sophisticated, masculine space reflects Best Menswear strong heritage and expertise in formal menswear and is designed to provide a smooth shopping experience for customers.


“The design of the floor is very important and has become a real talking point for customers,” explains Kate Rooney, Head of Retail at Best Menswear. She said: “Our Karndean flooring complements our brand and we’re absolutely delighted with the result. We’ve had three stores completed so far and plan to keep the same design and roll this out across all ten stores.”


Establishing a workable yet premium experience was important and Opus Mico and Knight Tile Aged Oak form the ideal contrasting combination to create a modern, subtle design with an edge, with Mico’s popular pale poured concrete look with hints of marbled pattern alongside the rich

chocolate tones of the highly realistic Aged Oak wood effect.


“We welcome around 4,000 customers a week browsing our exclusive fashion brands, so although the wear layer was important, we were more drawn to the aesthetics and realistic designs,” explains Kate.


The shopping experience should


be as smart and sleek as the clothes.


She added: “We’ve noticed how quiet and pleasant the floor is underfoot and the sound of heels is considerably muffled. The customer experience is top priority at Best Menswear and we believe it has been elevated with the new shop fit; the installation was seamless and professional from start to finish and the results are just as impressive.”


Incorporating the idea that the shopping experience should be as smart and sleek as the clothes, Store Design and Best Menswear finished the renovation with merchandising stands in dark truffle timber and umbra grey metal work, as well as LED lighting to show off the displays.


Based in Dublin, Ireland, Kashan Carpets and


Flooring, a platinum Karndean retail partner, has been tasked with installing all three Best Menswear stores to date.
