Setcrete Products Used to


Refurbish Scout Building Products from Setcrete’s range of high performance flooring products have been used in a scout building conversion project in Crewe.


Setcrete’s Acrylic Primer, Latex floor levelling compound and High Performance floor levelling compound were used to create a long-lasting, aesthetically-pleasing floor finish.


Setcrete Acrylic Primer was applied over the entire subfloor of 100m2

Setcrete Acrylic Primer is designed to prevent unacceptably rapid drying of floor levelling compounds over absorbent subfloors and to promote a high adhesion strength between the levelling compound and the substrate. Coloured green to provide visual control of coverage uniformity, the acrylic primer is suitable for use over a range of absorbent and non- absorbent subfloor types.

compound suitable for use over a wide variety of subfloors including plywood, concrete and sand/cement screeds. Due to its fast-setting and fast-drying properties, the levelling compound is typically walk-on-hard in just one or two hours and can then either be covered with a decorative floorcovering or used as a wearing surface, as was the case at the Crewe scout building.


The remaining 20m2 of subfloor in the


corridor and toilet areas of the scout building was covered with Setcrete Latex, to prepare the subfloor to receive vinyl and carpet tiles. Setcrete Latex has a working time of 20 minutes, is walk-on hard after just two hours, and is sufficiently dry to allow for the installation of new floorcoverings


after 24 hours. It can be applied at thicknesses between 2-10mm, and is designed to be self-levelling and user- friendly, allowing professional builders to complete flooring installations with ease and confidence.


Andrew Whalley, who undertook the refurbishment, said: “I am not a flooring contractor but I found all three of these Setcrete products to be very user-friendly and simple to apply. The products recommended by our Setcrete representative allowed us to create a long lasting, durable floor finish which has transformed the building for the 17th South West Cheshire Scouts.”

Replacement of a worn or damaged cord is straightforward, thanks to the VTVe’s easy-change cord system. The process – which is tool free – is designed to prevent the need for any service engineer call-out charge. All that’s required is a coin to release the retaining screws, before pulling out and then replacing the cord.


The machine is powered by an 800W motor, and has an 11.5 litre capacity for high productivity of some 230 square metres per hour.


Any advanced vacuum must also safeguard indoor air quality. The


VTVe has three-stage filtration. A HEPA 13 filter and fleece bag captures all particles of 0.3 microns and larger. The bag also has a closing feature to prevent dust particles from escaping while it being replaced.


Both its crevice tool and dusting brush are stored conveniently at the back of the machine, while a wand holder facilitates tidy storage. Similar attention to detail has been paid in the design of the vacuum’s carry handle. It’s moulded to accommodate the VTVe’s wand, which sits atop the handle, so the machine can easily be carried in one hand.


This tub vac has been designed to meet the 2017 eco regulations while also delivering reliably high performance.
