HEALTH+CARE 2018 PREVIEW Who will be there?

We take a look at a handful of the exhibitors you can expect to see at this year’s Health+Care event.

OMNICELL Stand E40

Omnicell UK & Ireland will be appearing at the Health+Care Show where it will be showcasing Omnicell eMAR, an automated medication management system designed for the managed care environment.

The system gathers information, provides prompts and accurate instructions for staff and gives managers real time medication administration data at the touch of a button so they can be sure that the right dose has been administered at the right time to the right resident.

The system automates the entire medication management and administration process, making it safe, simple and compliant for both pharmacy and care home.

Omnicell will also be launching the latest chapter of the ‘SAFE: Banishing Medication Errors in Care Homes’ report looking at medication errors within care homes and what can be done to reduce them.

APETITO Stand D64

apetito is a dedicated expert in nutritious, sustainably source food for older people. The company is passionate about sharing expertise with its customers through genuine partnerships, to empower them to create an exceptional dining experience with great food that is shared and enjoyed.

Placing food at the heart of everything it does, apetito offers choice from traditional favourites such as cottage pie to indulgent desserts such as sticky toffee pudding.

Effective medication management has been an ongoing problem for care homes for a number of years, with reports showing that almost 70% of residents have experienced at least one error in their medication regime. Part of the problem lies in the use of outdated paper-based systems during the medication administration process. The use and accuracy of these records requires constant review.

These issues can be overcome by a system-wide based approach to the issue and a solution that relates to several of the communication and records problems that occur. The answer is the introduction of electronic medication administration records in all care homes as a standard of care.

apetito is also a two-time winner of the UK’s highest business accolade, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise, most recently in April 2016, awarded for the Texture Modified range of meals designed especially for people suffering with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties).

This June, the Health + Care show will contain a real-life purpose-built care home, where attendees can experience and engage with modern technologies designed to help provide better care.

In the dining room space of Health + Care, apetito will be displaying three different dining styles. Demonstrating its flexible approach, this will showcase

its genuine partnerships with the care homes it works with to create a dining experience that suits the vision you have for your care home.

apetito does not operate a ‘one size fits all’ approach and is adaptable and flexible to rise to any challenge. Come and talk to their friendly representatives to find out about how they can partner with you to support the health and wellbeing of your residents, and why not try some tasty food while you’re at it.
