SenseCare by Oysta Technology

SenseCare is a device from UK care tech company Oysta which records the temperature and humidity in a person’s home and sends an alert if safe limits are breached.

SenseCare also includes passive infrared sensors that detect movement within a room so a vulnerable person’s activities can be monitored with privacy. Lack of movement or reducing movement could indicate a decline in their health.

The company’s devices also have a ‘WeatherWatch’ feature which helps carers prioritise the level of help a vulnerable person needs based on the time of day and local weather, and which can send an alert if someone has left home after dark or in the cold.

Oysta’s devices use mobile phone towers, Wifi and GPS so carers can locate a vulnerable person and, if needed, find them or direct them to a place of safety. Oysta solutions allow people who need a little additional support to pursue an active lifestyle and avoid isolation, with telecare devices and sensors linked to their IntelliCare platform available via any web browser.

“We wanted to make it easy to keep an eye on the wellbeing of a loved one and with the additional concerns this winter we know it’s more important than ever that friends, family and carers can monitor activities such as whether mum or dad has got up to make a cup of tea or eaten a meal and if they are in a warm home,” said Mario Zuccaro, Founder of Oysta.
