Hello and welcome to the August/September issue of Tomorrow’s Care.
I hope you’re all well and have had a good summer. It seems like the year is racing by and it’s hard to believe that it’s almost time for one of the biggest events in the care industry calendar- Care Show 2017. To know what to expect at this year’s event, held at Birmingham’s NEC in October, we have a special Show Preview; featuring everything you need to know to plan your trip.
As the summer holidays are almost over, there will be a fresh influx of school leavers thinking about their next moves in terms of careers. With the care industry facing tough competition from other sectors when it comes to attracting staff, there is no better time than the present to start thinking about training opportunities and schemes you can provide to attract more people to the profession. In our Training and Education section, you can find advice covering a wide variety of aspects on the subject of recruitment, from apprenticeships through to tips on retaining employees.
Elsewhere in the issue, we have a special focus on Catering with expert advice and case studies from the likes of rexmartins, Hales Care and Chelsea Court Place. In keeping with the theme of food, we also take a look at a sweet transformation of an abandoned chocolate factory into a homely and engaging care facility with the help of Karndean Designflooring. Also in our Furniture and Interiors section, we find out how the Royal Alfred Seafarers’ Society creates an interior with memories in mind and how bean bags can be the ideal solution for a medical care environment.
