CARE SHOW2017 PREVIEW Ones To Watch
To help you decide who to visit at this year’s Care Show, we spoke to some of the big names exhibiting to find out what they will be showcasing.
OMNICELL- STAND C14 Omnicell UK & Ireland will be
showcasing Omnicell eMAR, an automated medication management system designed for the managed care environment, at this year’s Care Show.
The system gathers information, provides prompts and accurate instructions for staff and gives managers real-time medication administration data at the touch of a button so they can be sure that the right dose has been administered at the right time to the right resident.
With Omnicell eMAR, each individual’s medication is identified through a barcode applied in pharmacy, which
can then be tracked at all stages, from check-in at the care home to administration to the resident, to unused items which are disposed of or returned to the pharmacy. The system uses onscreen photographic identification which provides important medical history for each patient and includes a simple alert and verification system to minimise the risk of medication administration errors in the home.
Additionally, the system has a ‘carried forward’ feature which allows homes to use up medication from a previous cycle rather than throwing it away – helping to tackle the large-scale problem of medication wastage here in the UK.
The system automates the entire medication management and administration process, making it safe, simple and compliant for both pharmacy and care home.

THE KEY SAFE
COMPANY- STAND F100 Specialist in key safes The Key Safe Company will be returning to the Care Show for the second year running.
During the two-day event, visitors to the show will be able to witness firsthand and discuss with a team of experts the One Touch Personal Alarm and the Supra C500 KeySafe.
The One Touch Personal Alarm is a personal monitoring system, which, unlike many traditional services, allows the wearer to travel outside their home. It operates using a roaming SIM and allows the end-user to alert up to three contacts in the event of an
emergency and activates a two-way conversation with the responder, who can alert relevant family members or care professionals.
Also on display is the Supra C500, which is the UK’s only mechanical police- accredited key safe that has been tested to the same security standard as an external door. The passcode-protected metal box provides a highly secure method of externally storing keys to the exterior of a property and can hold up to five keys.
The Supra C500 is recognised through the Secured by Design initiative due to achieving the LPS1175: Issue 6, security rating 1. The product has an accredited certification from The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), the international Certification Body in the fields of security and fire protection. The product has undergone rigorous tests devised by security experts to demonstrate a comparable attack resistance to a domestic front door.
