entries soon The 2020 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards will open for entries on 20 May 2019, and close on 27 September.


Kimberly-Clark Professional (KCP) has also announced a new Diversity category, bringing the total number of awards up to 17 to be presented in a prestigious ceremony on 4 March 2020, at the Park Lane Hilton, London.


The new Diversity Category has been announced in recognition of a changing society where inclusion of all is encouraged, recognising individual differences as both important and equal. This is the latest of three new categories announced including Best Innovation and Best Small Business.

The other categories include: Healthcare establishment (fewer than and more than 250 beds), Office areas (below and above 250,000 sq ft), Education Establishment (large and small), Shopping Mall, Manufacturing Facilities, Hospitality Award, Environmental Awareness Award, Industry Training Award, Site Supervisor of the Year and Cleaning Operative of the Year.


The British institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) will independently oversee the judging process, which will begin in November with the paper judging stage. Site visits will take place in November and December, again managed by BICSc to ensure uniformity and fairness.


New gold sponsor the CHSA is joined by silver sponsors Kärcher and Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene supplies, and bronze sponsors Truvox International and InnuScience. The British Cleaning Council also returns as a bronze sponsor, while KCP also recognises the support of the CSSA in promoting the awards.

www.goldenserviceawards.co.uk Star Tissue MD made Lancashire


Deputy Lieutenant The Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, The Lord Shuttleworth KG KCVO, has announced the appointment of Khalid Saifullah, Managing Director of Star Tissue UK Limited, as Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire, with effect from 17 April 2019.


He will join the existing team of Deputies who help and support the Lord-Lieutenant in his duties as Her Majesty The Queen’s representative in the county of Lancashire.


Blackburn-based Khalid was awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise Promotion in 2011, and was featured in the Guardian’s annual poll of the 50 ‘most influential people in the North of England’. As well as MD of Star Tissue, he is a Director of the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, and Trustee of Minority Enterprise Development Trust.


Khalid said: “I am both greatly honoured and humbled to have been selected to serve my home county of Lancashire as a Deputy Lieutenant. I will continue to work hard to represent all that is great about Lancashire. I look forward to supporting Lord Shuttleworth and his team in their forthcoming duties.”
