ABM wins contract with Angel Central

ABM has been appointed by commercial real estate consultants, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) for facilities management services at its Angel Central Shopping Centre in Islington.

The three-year award will see ABM’s team deliver a total facilities management (TFM) package of cleaning, mechanical, electrical, and security services. The latest win adds to ABM’s impressive portfolio of retail clients, which already includes several other LSH sites located across the UK.

John McPherson, Managing Director at ABM UK, commented: “We’re delighted to extend our relationship with the team at LSH. The contract for Angel Central provides us with an opportunity to deliver both our technical and facilities management services, offering more efficiency for our client in a central London location.

“As we look forward to a phased return to normality over the coming weeks, we understand now more than ever, that our

clients need to reassure the public that buildings and public spaces are safe and secure.”

The centre, owned by CBRE Global Investors, is home to a strong line-up of shops, restaurants and cinema and has recently completed a £16m redevelopment that created an enhanced offer for the local community, with flagship restaurant and retail opportunities, a new circular walkway linking the two levels to include outdoor seating, and extended leisure facilities.

Adam Cummins, Centre Manager at Angel Central, added: “ABM’s extensive experience in technical and facilities management services, together with its impressive operational approach and understanding of enhanced cleaning procedures makes them a valuable extension of our team. With ABM’s expertise behind us we look forward to the easing of further lockdown restrictions and seeing Angel Central, safely and securely, busy once again.”

£5m sales for Bothongo Hygiene Solutions

Bothongo Hygiene Solutions has celebrated its first year in business by smashing the £5m sales barrier and launching more than 100 new products.

The company has shone in the darkest of years to post the impressive figures and emerge as a leading player in the cleaning and FM sector.

Reflecting on a memorable year, Nick Winstone, CEO of Bothongo Hygiene Solutions, said: “I’ve had to learn agility on a whole new level, seen the value of true partnership with both customers and particularly suppliers, enjoyed working with a group of colleagues from all over the world and, most importantly, discovered what can be achieved through true teamwork.”

The newcomer is gearing up for a wave of product launches hot on the heels of bringing to market its flagship Zuppclean UK B2B range of over 70 products, as well as B2C Anzupp, Greenzupp and Zuppflame brands.

Bothongo Hygiene Solutions also prides itself on making the lives of its customers as easy and safe as possible, and with this in mind it is now uploading short training videos to its YouTube channel.

Sustainability and affordability are core values of the firm, which is a sister company to established manufacturer of biotechnology cleaning products, InnuScience. Both are part of Bothongo Group and they share an integrated UK sales team at offices in the Northamptonshire countryside, near Towcester.

Nick continued: “Sustainability has always been close to my heart. All of our packaging used is recycled and recyclable, as well over 60% of our range meets our eco criteria. With the economy and our customers having suffered financial

hardship, we wanted to ensure that the entire range was cost-effective and affordable, as we recover financially.”

In the early stages of the pandemic Bothongo – then named Healthguard Hygiene – showed its agility, with able assistance from its supply chain, to provide UK key workers with a staggering 10m bottles of sanitiser.

Explaining the rebrand, Nick added: “Having built up a solid base of satisfied customers and assessed new opportunities in the janitorial and hygiene space, it became clear that consolidation was needed across the Bothongo Group’s main markets in Europe, North America and Africa. To ensure consistent positioning, Healthguard Hygiene took the decision to rebrand in order to reinforce their association with the Bothongo Group, and renamed the business Bothongo Hygiene Solutions UK Ltd.” WHAT’S NEW? | 21
