INNOVATION ON DISPLAY One of the many highlights of the show itself was the Amsterdam Innovation Award, as the ceremony crowned a number of winners across several categories, whilst all the innovative nominees got a chance to shine at the InnovationLAB in hall 8.

In the new ‘E-cleaning’ category, the Orbital Dashboard from INPACS and Diversey’s IntelliLinen were pipped to the post by SystemONE from Vermop, a modular way to bring manual cleaning equipment online.

In the ‘Equipment/tools for cleaning, care and safety’ category, Diversey’s MoonBeam 3 UVC Disinfection System and Unger’s HydroPower RO narrowly lost out to SYR’s Powr-Mop Lite.

However, in the ‘Machines, accessories, components’ category, Kärcher’s first autonomous robotic scrubber dryer the KIRA B50 claimed victory over the Automatic Marvin from Wetrok and the Service Station for Cleaning Robots from Adlatus, as well as claiming the overall award Innovation Award 2018. You can find out more about the KIRA B50 on page 36.

The Tork PaperCircle from Essity won the ‘Management, training solutions and related products’ category as well as the coveted Visitor’s Choice Award, with attendees clearly loving the benefits of the local level recycling. Dityspray from Dityspray and green-Effective Performance Calculator from Werner & Mertz Professional were runners up.

While the winners and nominees all have something to celebrate, during the Award ceremony a donation of €12,000 was given to the African Medical & Research Foundation (AMREF) Flying Doctors and its project in Kilindi, Tanzania, which provides accessible water and sanitary facilities for the community.
