Pit stop made at Kärcher HQ
Team BRIT, the inspirational team hoping to make history at Le Mans, recently made a special visit to the Banbury HQ of key sponsor Kärcher this week.
Global cleaning equipment manufacturer, Kärcher, is a long- term sponsor of the team, which aims to be the first ever all- disabled team to race in the iconic 24-hour endurance race.
On Monday 14 June, team driver Bobby Trundley visited Kärcher HQ in Banbury after a stellar performance in his latest race. Two of the team’s cars – the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 and BMW M240i arrived on site early in the morning ready for the special treatment of a Kärcher pressure wash after the race weekend.
21-year-old Bobby, who was diagnosed with severe autism as a child, accompanied the cars and spoke with Kärcher staff about his incredible race at Oulton Park on Saturday, which saw him secure a P1 finish alongside teammate Aaron Morgan, for the second race in a row.
Kärcher, known for their professional cleaning equipment, partnered with Team BRIT for the first time in 2019 and supplies the team with access to a range of equipment to keep its workshop in top shape, along with credit for products and consumables to help achieve its goals in 2021. Team BRIT supports people with physical and psychological challenges in accessing motorsport through its racing academy and has developed the world’s most advanced hand control technology.
James Gordon, Marketing Director at Kärcher GB & Ireland, said: “It was great to have team BRIT here with the wider team at our Banbury headquarters. We are proud to support a team that helps people believe that anything is possible and compete at the highest level in their sport. We enjoyed celebrating their success on the track whilst getting the cars back into pristine condition before the next race.”
Team BRIT Commercial Director Mike Scudamore, who also joined the visit said: “It was great to have the chance to meet so many of the Kärcher team, to introduce them to Bobby and crew member Dean, and to show off our fantastic cars.
“Sponsor support is crucial in helping us further our work on accessibility in motorsport, and it’s really important for us to show the people involved just what a difference their help is making. We hope to return to the Kärcher HQ again soon and to welcome some of the team trackside.”

2022 return for Middle East Cleaning
Technology Week Middle East Cleaning Technology Week (MECTW) will return to Dubai, UAE, in 2022, joint organisers Messe Frankfurt Middle East (MFME) and VIS have announced.
The sixth edition of the three-day event was due to run in September 2021, however after careful consideration and extensive consultation with stakeholders and trade partners, the decision to move the show to 2022 will allow more time for the industry to recover.
Shyam Parmar, Project Manager at MFME, said: “Although MECTW has built support locally from the Dubai Municipality along with international partners and signed up a number of exhibitors, overall the exhibition has been significantly impacted by the current market conditions.
“Our research shows that many companies have suffered a downturn in business over the last 18 months within the industry, with airports, hotels and commercial laundries having been affected the most. Although we have seen a number of success stories, the commercial cleaning and laundry industries need more time to recover before a successful event can take place.
16 | WHAT’S NEW?
“We’re confident that when MECTW returns in 2022, we will have full support of the industry in a period where the green shoots of recovery will be well and truly breaking through.”
Middle East Cleaning Technology Week comprises Clean Middle East Expo, Gulf Car Wash, and Gulf Laundrex presented by Texcare, meeting the 360-degree needs of commercial and industrial cleaning, facilities and waste management, car and auto cleaning, laundry and dry cleaning.
