Atkinson & Kirby has supplied its oak flooring to an ultra- modern college campus in Scotland.
Preparing for future generations of students, the new City of Glasgow College campus has been designed to provide the best possible range of opportunities for both its current and prospective attendees.
To progress with the changing needs of students and lecturers alike, the new college ‘super’ campus has been future-proofed to include technologically-advanced facilities that blend seamlessly with the vast, open-plan teaching environment, making it an inspiring space to teach and learn.
In order to help promote this inspiring environment through all aspects of the project, the City of Glasgow College team was looking for a range of flooring that would look

visually beautiful in their stunning open-plan atrium area; particularly one that would fit with the contemporary style chosen for the project. One of the most important factors was that the flooring could withstand high traffic in the bustling college environment, which was where the selection of Atkinson & Kirby flooring came into play.
The installation of the flooring, handled by GL Floors based in Edinburgh, was fitted with Atkinson & Kirby’s Caledonian range, which reflects the natural beauty and high quality of modern hardwood. The range was selected as the flooring of choice near to the stairs in the Central Atrium, providing a long-lasting, durable flooring solution for this busy area of the campus.
