Principle Cleaning Services is a market leader in providing corporate commercial cleaning in London. Established in 1989, the employee-owned company has an annual turnover of £80m+ and employs over 2,500 people. Supporting and delivering clean environments across London, clients include well-known landmarks including The Shard, 20 Fenchurch Street and 30 St Mary Axe.

We identified a gap in the market for monitoring cleaning progress on either portfolios of properties for one client or mixed-use estates, which are becoming popular due to the communities they create. We took this idea and developed an interactive 3D map that enables clients to see both cleaning results and trends for multiple properties or parts of an estate, in one place.

3D Mapping details data and performance for multiple buildings, including how washrooms are used, how windows are cleaned and what cleaning standards are being achieved. It details hotspots around estates, estate cleanliness, waste management and much more.

Principle’s unique Drop Marking technology feeds into the 3D Mapping technology and enables our window cleaning teams to accurately record how long each drop takes, and provides a real-time record of the progress of scheduled cleans. To further evidence our robust approach, we have developed a weather reporting form that our teams must complete before work can commence. As with Drop Marking, these reports are automatically uploaded to our online platform, PCS Hub.

The Mapping platform offers a multitude of options to highlight non-routine cleaning activities and monitor other systems and supplier performance metrics such as air quality, water usage and recycling data.

We can also share this platform with other service providers so that clients have enhanced visibility of their visits – for example, whilst on security patrols, our tags can be scanned by the security operatives and linked to the 3D map.

Enabling clients to see the scheduling of any periodic cleaning and window cleaning tasks is extremely beneficial. It demonstrates a greater degree of transparency and ensures they are receiving the service they are paying for.

This technology is unique, it offers levels of transparency previously unseen in the cleaning sector and has been warmly welcomed by clients.
