Longevity is proof that a product works, and this is exactly what Prochem’s range of Steempro carpet extraction machines provide. The Steempro, which has three models in the comprehensive range, has been around for nearly 24 years, originally launched in 2000 as the ‘Steempro 2000’.
During that time, these machines have sold in large numbers to a myriad of markets, including to professional carpet cleaners, large FM cleaning companies, healthcare premises and prestigious locations such high-end luxury hotels and palaces.
With a variety of specifications on offer, cleaning solution capacity is available from 35L to a larger 55L option. The SX2000 Steempro Powerflo has a single three-stage vacuum motor, whereas the SX2100 Steempro Powermax and larger SX2700 Steempro Powerplus models have twin three-stage vacuums.
One of the main reasons why the range has proved so popular and lasted so long are the ‘whisper-quiet’ vacuum motors. These not only provide a powerful result but also suit the cleaning technicians and surrounding environment, particularly when cleaning areas where occupants are sensitive to excessive noise, including care homes.
The range of accessories attachable to each Steempro unit opens up huge cleaning opportunities to owners. An in-line heater can be attached which provides hot water at 65°C to the operator in a matter of minutes; and a short 36” S-bend stair wand enables easier cleaning of carpeted stairs, in addition to other accessories specifically for cleaning upholstery, misting or sanitising, and even hard flooring cleaning.
Over time, the chassis of the larger 55L Powerplus model has been further developed into the RC2700 CR2 – a multi-surface non-touch cleaning system that’s found its niche market in cleaning changing rooms, shower rooms and toilets, and has been sold into gyms, football clubs, universities and airports.
The Steempro range has had some subtle improvements over the years, such as increasing the pressure on solution pumps; adding a mains isolation switch and side mounted brackets to store hoses tidily for transit.
