Following the event-filled day at Silverstone, many guests were invited to a gala dinner in the evening at the nearby Whittlebury Hall, which proved to be a perfect networking event for all, as well as a well-deserved celebration for Hako themselves.

Andy Wilson, a manager at DPD, said: “This has been a great day and I am delighted to have been included. It has been extremely useful not only to have seen the full range of equipment, but also to have met so many of the Hako team as well.”

Chris Sockett, landscape and amenities manager at York University, commented: “It was great to see the product range in one place and also good to meet other members of the Hako team who are equally enthusiastic about what [Hako] has to offer. The depth of knowledge and passion about the products was evident from speaking to the sales team and equally the technicians that came along too.”

Sylvie Giangolini, Hako UK’s Managing Director, commented: “It really was a great day, we had some very high quality customers join us – many who came from far afield to support us and we have had some lovely feedback. The equipment demonstrations were particularly valuable and I think many customers had not realised the broad range of equipment we have. It was fantastic not only to be able to showcase it, but also to carry out live demonstrations.

“Another key element of the day was for our customers to meet the aftersales and demonstrator teams. Forging great, transparent relationships with customers is at the core of our philosophy and a day like this helps build those relationships.”

All in all, Hako’s birthday bash was a huge success for the company, so here’s to the next 40 years.

The Need for Speed

As well as watching demonstrations and getting hands on with some key Hako equipment, guests were also invited to take part in a Drive Silverstone ‘Hot Lap’ experience.

Once you’d signed a waiver, put on a balaclava and been fitted with the right size of helmet, you were placed in the passenger seat of a BMW M2 alongside a professional driver, and sent out on the International Circuit. Although not the full-length track you’ll see at the British Grand Prix, the almost two-mile layout takes in many of the track’s infamous elements such as the Hangar Straight, Stowe and Club Corner, taking many corners sideways and reaching speeds in excess of 160mph.

Although not for the faint of heart, the Hot Lap was a brilliant experience and far more appealing in an M2 than one guest’s suggestion of racing a ride-on scrubber dryers around the track…
