Happy Birthday Hako

In 2019, Hako celebrates its UK anniversary, and as part of its merriments, the company invited Tomorrow’s Cleaning along for a special day at Silverstone Circuit.

On March 14, invited Hako customers, suppliers and partners from all across the country arrived at the Silverstone Circuit for a number of equipment demonstrations, a special new product launch, several high- level seminars and even an adrenaline-fuelled couple of laps around the track – for those who dared.

Although the heavens opened briefly during the day, it wasn’t enough to put a dampener on proceedings as the company celebrated 40 years in the UK. Visitors were able to keep safe and warm inside both Silverstone’s impressive conference suites and a pit garage, which had been converted into a demonstration area to show off a wide range of Hako kit, from commercial equipment and ride-on scrubber dryers though to the huge street cleaning Citymasters.

Guests included representatives from the likes of Tesco, BT, DPD, Briggs Equipment, City of London Corporation and The Trafford Centre. Seminars included talks on financing solutions and training.

Undoubtedly one of the stars of the show was the Roboscrub 20, Hako’s first foray into the next generation of robotic floorcare. The advanced AI system enables the robot to navigate complex, real-world environments and is designed to work safely and efficiently alongside employees, and can still be used manually when required.

Cleaners can drive routes for the Roboscrub to remember, allowing the machine to run the course at specific times autonomously, while the machine’s sensors can adapt and work around new obstacles impeding the route. Able to adapt and adjust, the Roboscrub 20 is versatile and capable on its own, not just when driven by a cleaning operative.

Frank Ulbricht, a member of Hako’s Executive Board in Germany, said of the Roboscrub: “Initial response from customers has been very positive. While such equipment is still in its early stages there is no doubting that this is the future as there is a shortage of workforce in the UK and throughout Europe, and robotics will be very cost efficient.

“Hako UK has made some amazing strides forward over the past few years and Sylvie has a fantastic team around her. I am very happy to see so many customers here to join them in celebrating this milestone birthday.”
