Safelincs Ltd have been providing fire safety solutions to businesses for over 10 years, so we spoke to them about why their Fireworld extinguishers are something all facilities managers need to know about.

accredited bodies and undertake periodical refresher training. Then spare parts for the different types of extinguishers being serviced must be carried on all of the vans as well as all servicing tools. However there is now a simple solution! The P50 Fireworld extinguishers can be serviced by a simple visual inspection by any member of your general maintenance team. There is no refill, there is no need for service parts and the extinguishers are guaranteed for 10 years! The entire training required for your staff consist of no more than a five minute video introduction.

What is different about the P50

Fireworld Extinguisher? The P50 Fireworld is made from composite plastics and brass and therefore completely corrosion free. There is no need for the usual refill after five years and like a modern car, it does not need any new service parts during its entire lifespan. The P50 is British made and carries a 10 year guarantee. After 10 years Safelincs offers a factory refurbishment which then extends the lifespan by another 10 years! The P50 extinguishers are Kitemarked and CE marked.

Would installing the Fire World enable an FM to offer extinguisher maintenance on

top of their other services? Traditionally if an FM wanted to add extinguisher maintenance to the skills of their maintenance staff it would be costly and difficult. Staff would need to be trained through

How do the costs compare? Whilst the P50 are about 50% more expensive than traditional extinguishers, they do not require a refill after five years, no service components and no specialist skills. You therefore save on training, spare parts and stock costs. And best of all is the speed with which the simple visual inspection can be carried out compared with traditional extinguisher maintenance!

How can an FM introduce the

P50? Simply replace existing extinguishers with the P50 range. Existing CO2s are replaced with foam. Where existing foam and CO2 are located at a fire point, just replace the two with one P50 Fireworld foam extinguisher. On new sites, Safelincs is happy to carry out the site survey and to install the extinguishers in the correct places for you – at no cost! Please note that the P50 extinguishers have a substantially higher fire fighting rating than ordinary extinguishers, so fewer extinguishers will be required.

www.tomorrowsfm.com How environmentally friendly

is the Fireworld? Using Fireworld extinguishers can help towards reducing your carbon footprint. The Britannia Fireworld extinguisher is 100% recyclable and does not need refilling after five years. The extinguishers can also be refurbished after use or after 10 years to give each extinguisher another 10 year life and guarantee.

Where can the Fireworld

extinguisher be installed? The Fireworld extinguisher is suitable for all areas of application and has already been installed in schools, churches, shops, businesses and farms. Due to the incredible durability of the units and the corrosive free properties there is no area where they would not be suitable.
