PAPER PACKAGING SOLUTIONS BEING INTRODUCED IN 2024


In 2024, Lockhart is committed to introducing a new paper product protection solution. The PakTool cushioning system will form a layer at the bottom of the box and fold over the top of the products. This system can be used either in addition to or as an alternative to the paper honeycomb protection. It will replace the Storopack air quilt solution currently in use, which consists of a plastic sheet on a roll that is inflated with air pockets. The removal of this plastic solution is expected to reduce plastic waste by 5.5 tonnes per year. We are working with our supplier to ensure we find the best solution for delivering this product to packing benches in the most efficient way.

Proving that sustainable solutions can be functional and easy to implement, these changes to our transport packaging have proven to be a real success thanks to the team in our warehouse. The focus in the future will be to continue to make positive changes by working with our supply chain to build a sustainable future.
