Unlike plastic bubble wrap which this has replaced, the paper honeycomb product protection is


recyclable. We expect this to


reduce plastic waste by 600kg a year. while still providing the same level of protection and being operationally faster and easier to use. The paper honeycomb shape as it is unravelled.


Paper ‘documents enclosed’ envelopes


Lockhart also switched from plastic ‘documents enclosed’ envelopes to the paper alternative, which we estimate to reduce plastic waste by 400kg a year.


Paper carton sealing tape


Lockhart made the switch from plastic carton sealing tape to paper carton sealing tape, which is expected to reduce plastic waste by 2 tonnes per year, whilst also encouraging packers to use tape more sparingly, as it will only stick well to cardboard, and not onto other layers of the tape, reducing the risk of multiple unnecessary layers.
