NEW IMAGING FUNCTIONALITY

Renishaw has introduced fl uorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) functionality to its inVia confocal Raman microscope. In partnership with Becker & Hickl, the expert in time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC), the system combines both Raman and FLIM in a single instrument. This integration can overlay both FLIM and Raman images with pixel-to- pixel correlation, thus increasing understanding of samples across a range of applications.

Wi-Fi enabled tube reader introduced

Ziath has launched its next generation DataPaq Handheld 2 tube reader - designed to be held and operated in one hand, leaving the other free for tube handling. Designed for easy portability, the new DataPaq Handheld 2 is a dedicated standalone device for rapidly reading single 2D bar-coded tubes. Its highly intuitive interface, and easy-to-read display, simplify and speed operation. The DataPaq Handheld 2

has four operating modes. Barcode Scanning enables users to rapidly scan a tube barcode and view it on screen. Data Entry allows users to scan a tube barcode and enter the information about the contained sample and store it in their sample information database. Data View allows users to scan a

A newly launched qPCR all-rounder

Analytik Jena has launched its new generation of real-time PCR thermal cyclers. qTower iris is a further development of the qTower series and the new design features an extended wavelength range up to the UVA spectrum as well as improved software and other benefi ts that ensure the highest level of application comfort and effi ciency. Multiplex assays are playing an increasingly important role in real-time PCR and are becoming a rapid and practical screening assay in all areas of life

sciences. One of the biggest

challenges in multiplex assays is the clean resolution of the individual fl uorescence signals without crosstalk. With a unique multicolour LED light source and matching fi lter

modules, the new qTower iris enables optimal resolution of the individual colour channels and delivers reliable qPCR results with multiplexing of up to 6 targets. With a wavelength range from UV to NIR, the system achieves fl exibility in the real-time PCR

EXPERTS JOIN FORCES

Xyall and Indica Labs have entered into a strategic partnership to bridge the gap between histology and molecular pathology. It unites Xyall’s automated tissue dissection solutions with Indica Labs’ diagnostic digital pathology platform. Selecting tumour tissue is at

the heart of molecular diagnostic testing. The collaboration will enable molecular labs to benefi t from a fully digital and automated workfl ow for tissue macro dissection for molecular diagnostic testing.
