Extra Large Round Chamber Autoclave Announced
For laboratories wishing to acquire a high capacity, front loading cylindrical chamber autoclave with an exception pack density at a more affordable price the ideal solution is the latest 400 litre steam steriliser announced by Priorclave. The new autoclave joins the popular Q63 range which is renowned for sterilising chambers with a taller profile than that found in most ‘cylindrical’ machines making it ideal for accepting larger items. This range also offers better loading versatility with much easier and safer chamber access due to the lower loading height of just 725 mm.
The new Q63/EH400 autoclave is the largest cylindrical-chamber steam steriliser in Priorclave’s extensive product range. It retains all the same build quality and conforms to the same stringent manufacturing standards set by this leading British company.
Whilst offering increased loading, the combination of features such as forced air cooling to reduce cycle times and automatic timed free-steaming for improved air removal add to the overall sterilising performance of the Q63 autoclave.
All operating settings are programmed easily through the Tactrol® 3 microprocessor controller which is standard across the entire
Priorclave range. A feature of the Q63/EH400 is that the control system can be configured to log all temperature, pressure time and cycle data into a single compact archive file which can be subsequently downloaded onto a USB flash drive for transfer to computer. The operational data then can be forwarded from anywhere in the world direct to Priorclave’s UK Service Centre for technical assistance in fine-tuning and clarification of autoclave performance if required.
Priorclave has developed and manufactures an impressive range of top and front loading steam sterilisers that include benchtop as well as front loading rectangular, power door and double-ended designs, laboratory autoclaves that have become synonymous with quality, reliability and highly efficient autoclaving processes.
The addition of the Q63/EH400 with its 400 litre cylindrical-chamber capacity has extended the Priorclave standard autoclave range and is expected to become as popular as the Q63/320 model, and depending on operational requirements can be supplied for electrical or direct steam heating.
The build quality of the new autoclave uses epoxy coated panels and frame members which are treated with an anti-bacterial agent which is highly effective against all bacteria and fungi including MRSA, key factors in preventing cross contamination within the laboratory.

DeNovix Inc’s CellDrop™, the first imaging cell counter to operate without the need for slides or plastic consumables, has been granted US Patent 10,302,568.
DeNovix Inc announces the award of US Patent 10,302,568 for their innovation in the field of cell counting. The CellDrop Automated Cell Counter, engineered with DirectPipette™ Technology, is the first image-based cell counter that completely eliminates the need for slides.
The CellDrop Series features permanent sample surfaces that form a reusable sample chamber. This innovation brings the simple Load, Measure and Wipe Clean functionality of microvolume spectrophotometers to cell counting, making it easier than ever to gain rapid, accurate cell counts and viability measurements. Not only are consumable plastics eliminated, but the instrument also delivers unrivalled levels of performance.
DeNovix Inc has been a developer and manufacturer of life science instruments and assays since 2012. CellDrop cell counters were added to their multi award-winning product portfolio in January 2019 as their newest stand- alone instrument.
“Automated cell counting has always been attractive to researchers, but the cost and environmental impact of plastic slides was a barrier,” stated DeNovix CEO Fred Kielhorn. “Since we introduced the product earlier this year, the market has responded strongly. Scientists immediately recognise that we’ve addressed a key problem with new technology. And we’ve delivered it in a powerful, easy-to-use device.”
The patent recognises DeNovix’s unique, reusable sample surface design. In addition, the patent protects the variable volume counting chamber, which enables measurements across the widest range of cell densities - 7x10e2 to 2.5x10e7 cells/mL. Samples are easily removed with a dry laboratory wipe after analysis.
The CellDrop Series is a line of image-based, automated cell counters. Systems include a high definition 7 inch touchscreen for live preview and instant review of results. Pre-installed EasyApps® software includes applications for AO/PI, Brightfield, Trypan Blue and GFP and user customized methods. The software delivers rapid cell counts, viability reports and transfection efficiency assays. All instruments feature Wi-Fi, USB and Ethernet connectivity, allowing users to easily export data via email, network drives, network printers or USB drive. CellDrop cell counters are available in dual fluorescence and brightfield or brightfield only models.
