Quick and Easy and Spectroscopy Sample Preparation
The Fritsch Vibrating Cup Mill PULVERISETTE 9 offers many practical advantages in all areas in which hard, brittle and fibrous material must be ground extremely quick down to analytical fineness. The instrument is indispensable for fast sample
preparation, for example in
spectroscopy preparation, ore and geology laboratories, mining and metallurgy, ceramics industry, agriculture and environment, infrared and X-ray fluorescence analysis.
The PULVERISETTE 9 is very powerful, especially quiet, simple to operate, quick to clean, has a well-conceived drive concept and the grinding set is safe and easy to tension. The instrument is perfect for loss-free grinding results in extremely short grinding time due to up to 1500 rpm. Grinding sets in 5 different materials and 3 different sizes from 50 ml to 250 ml volume are available.
No similar mill offers a more convenient operation: The working position is ergonomically optimised; the ease of cleaning is without match. The grinding sets are especially light and are equipped with heat insulated handles, and do not have to be placed directly on the vibrating plate in the centre of the mill. The grinding set is simply placed on the guide rail, an anti-rotation lock enables easy movement to the final position and the safety switch checks the firm position. This protects your back and saves energy and time. The grinding set is tensioned in seconds using a well-thought out one-hand lever.
The setting of the grinding time precisely the second, the pause periods and rotational speed as well as the programming and storage of grinding cycles is done via the self-explanatory multilingual menu navigation on the LCD display. A special detector automatically recognises when you use a grinding set made of agate and reduces the rotational speed independently.

New All-purpose Diamond ATR
Make IRIS, the newest diamond ATR offered by PIKE Technologies, your go-to FTIR accessory. It is designed to make sampling easy. You can expect high-quality spectra covering a wide range of samples from powders, gels, liquids, solids and more. It is ideal for research, QA/QC and sample identification.
The backbone of the IRIS is its high-precision optics. IRIS’ powered mirrors have been designed and processed using diamond-turning technology to achieve optimal performance. All mirrors are gold-coated for maximum reflectivity. Its small monolithic diamond, less than 2-mm diameter, offers the ultimate ATR element for most all samples. It provides extreme hardness, access to the full mid-IR spectral range from 4000 – 400 cm-1, and is suitable for testing samples with a pH between 1-14. The diamond sampling surface combined with the unique PTFE seal between the diamond and the mounting plate adds to IRIS’ universal applicability for the analysis of strong organic solvents and caustic samples due to the chemical inertness of the accessory’s components in contact with the sample.

Next Generation Ellipsoidal Mirrors for X-Ray Diffraction
Optical Surfaces Ltd. is offering high-precision ellipsoidal mirrors that offer unmatched pinpoint focusing for high resolution spectroscopy in the soft and hard X-ray regions. Drawing upon skilled craftsmen working in a uniquely stable production environment, Optical Surfaces is able to produce ultra-smooth ellipsoidal mirrors able to deliver an X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) spot that exactly matches your spectrometer detector resolution. As a consequence, the resolution and angular range of XRD measurements can simultaneously be improved. In addition, the pinpoint focusing provided by the ellipsoidal mirrors increases X-ray flux density, resulting in better contrast. With workshops and test facilities deep underground where temperatures remain constant and vibration is practically non-existent, Optical Surfaces routinely produces ellipsoidal mirrors in a range of materials (Zerodur, BK7, fused silica) with typical surface accuracy of better than lambda/10 (dependent on size and radius) and surface quality of 20:10 scratch dig. Optical Surfaces can produce ellipsoidal mirrors in a range of shapes (largest dimension up to 400mm) that offer high performance and durable optical coatings that provide excellent image quality.
