This year, following on from an upsurge in marketing in classical publications such as this, online, and specifi c exhibitions closing with record-breaking visitor attendance in 2018, 2019 looks like it will be a bumper year.

Our 45th Anniversary edition of International Labmate has been a witness to this. I thank all those advertisers and readers who sent in kind and supportive comments on the editorial in the ‘45 Years of Scientifi c Publishing’ issue and yes, we were happy to publish stories on the foundation of thriving companies founded over 30 years ago. Non thriving ones and others may also send in editorial on their latest products and if suitable we will publish. It is in our interest to see our advertisers succeed!

Pittcon 2019, the 70th annual conference and exposition for analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy, saw an increase in attendance over last year’s Orlando event.

This year’s event brought together 12,541 attendee and exhibitor personnel, an increase of 9.9% over last year’s fi gures. Pittcon’s global attendance has remained stable; nearly 24.7% of attendees travelled from 93 countries outside of the United States, with the largest number of visitors being from China, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom and Mexico. Attendees represented a broad number of scientifi c disciplines including life science, food science, drug discovery, environmental, forensics, nanotechnology, water/wastewater, energy/fuel, agriculture and bioterrorism.

Shows - Our exhibitions continue to be widely praised, not just because they attract visitors of the highest quality and quantity, but they are also extremely entertaining and fun. Our company’s ethos has always been ‘work hard and play hard’. We have completed a highly successful PEFTEC ‘Petroleum, Refi ning & Environmental Technologies’ in Rotterdam. CEM 2018 ‘Continuous Emission Monitoring’ in Budapest with 51 speakers from 11 countries. WWEM ‘Water, Wastewater, Environmental Monitoring and Analysis’ was co-located with AQE 2018 ‘The Air Quality & Emissions Show’ and both featured a 19% increase in visitor numbers. The 2nd CEM India will take place in New Delhi on 24-26 September 2019, and advance numbers show a signifi cant increase over 2017, with pre-registered attendees up by 35% and exhibitors up by 12%.

Thank you for your continued support. marie@intlabmate.com.au
