Laboratory Products 49 CO2 incubator with built-in roller Crafted with precision by Wiggens, the CO2 incubator emerges as essential tool for various experimental pursuits, from cultivating animal cells to hatching and

germinating processes. With rapid heating, swift temperature recovery, and precise temperature control, this premium incubator ensures optimal conditions for cell growth and research.

Its innovative design features electric heating wires surrounding the chamber, ensuring uniform heat distribution. With dry-wall insulation, maintenance is minimised while temperature stability is maximised. A base heater maintains water in a tray for humidity control, while a circulation fan ensures even moisture dispersion. Additionally, front door and frame heaters prevent condensation, maintaining clarity for observation.

Partnering seamlessly with the CO2 incubator, the Celrol Elite roller apparatus offers configurations from 5 to 88 bottle positions, facilitating cell attachment culture.

This versatile apparatus accommodates standard plastic bottles, providing scalability and convenience for researchers. The roller culture technique, utilising gentle rotation, enhances gas exchange and promotes cell growth.

For high-demand applications like vaccine production, the Celrol Elite can be expanded with additional layers, accommodating up to 11 tiers of bottles. Wiggens supports this system with options for battery backup, SMS alarm notifications, and direct printer connections for streamlined reporting.

With its adaptability to standard cell culture bottles, the Celrol Elite roller apparatus offers a versatile solution for a wide array of biotechnological endeavours. More information online: ilmt.co/PL/zz7Q and ilmt.co/PL/pKbB

Precisely weighed, accurately analysed

KERN & SOHN GmbH will be at analytica on Stand 208 in Hall B2 and will be presenting its new measuring and weighing products for the laboratory. These include, amongst other products, a new precision balance as well as the KERN EasyTouch measuring and weighing software. The world’s leading exhibition for laboratory technology, analytics and biotechnology will be taking place in Munich from 9 to 12 April.

The KERN PCJ precision balance is tailor- made for connection to Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS). A menu lock function prevents unauthorised users accessing the device. In addition, the balance has an integrated alibi memory: This means that the weighing data is documented with date, time and identification number. This allows the results from weighings which require mandatory verification to also be analysed electronically and processed further in the proper manner.

The exchange of data and control commands between the balance and PC or network can be achieved using several interfaces, for example RS 232, USB, Bluetooth or WLAN. This is possible due to the integrated KERN Universal Port, which allows the required interface adapter to be simply plugged in.

The menu of the balance offers several settings which can be adapted to meet individual needs. For example, a key can be assigned with different functions for rapid access. With the PCJ, KERN is launching another balance with a standardised, user-friendly concept of operation. Balances of this generation are consistent in design across all products and have the same menu structure, key functions, interface connection as well as interface protocol.

The KERN EasyTouch software which is being shown at the exhibition allows you to collect measuring and weighing data and store this data digitally, analyse it and process it further. Numerous functions for different areas of application such as weighing, counting, recipe- weighing, growth and drying processes can be brought together in the modular system. Detailed measuring and weighing data is stored such that it cannot be altered and is traceable. In this way EasyTouch contributes to process security, even with complex weighing procedures.

KERN will also be presenting a wide range of analytical balances, microscopes and refractometers at analytica 2024.

Innovative modules simplify magnetic bead purification workflows

Integra Biosciences is excited to announce the launch of its MAG and HEATMAG modules for efficient, automated magnetic bead purification. These innovative solutions allow researchers to streamline several processing steps in molecular biology and proteomics workflows for maximum lab throughput. These time-saving devices are complemented by the COLDPLATE and BIOSHAKE - for precise temperature control and orbital shaking of magnetic beads, respectively - to further streamline protocols.

The MAG and HEATMAG modules are designed to revolutionise the speed and simplicity of magnetic bead purification. They boast exceptionally powerful magnets that automatically move up and down for fast and precise magnetic bead collection, removing the need to manually move plates and tubes to and from the magnet. The magnet height is also adjustable to match the volume requirements, and the modules are fully compatible with various labware formats to offer versatility like never before.

The HEATMAG provides all of these capabilities with the addition of a unique heating element for superior temperature transmission, making it the ideal solution for lysis and elution workflows. Both MAG and HEATMAG can be used as standalone devices, or paired with Integra’s ASSIST PLUS pipetting robot to offer seamless, walk-away magnetic bead purification with total confidence. Alternatively, combine the modules with the MINI 96, VIAFLO 96 or VIAFLO 384 pipetting platforms to process whole plates or multiple tubes simultaneously.

COLDPLATE and BIOSHAKE modules offer automated thermal and shaking control for greater reproducibility. The systems can be combined with the ASSIST PLUS, VIAFLO 96 and VIAFLO 384 platforms for high throughput workflows, or used as standalone plug-and-play modules.

“These top-of-the-range modules are incredibly exciting additions to our offerings for molecular biology and proteomics labs,” said Jan- Peter Baldin, Project Manager at Integra Biosciences. “They make it easier than ever to achieve high quality magnetic bead purification, heating, cooling and shaking with minimal hands-on time, streamlining workflows and boosting productivity.”
