34 Air Monitoring Feel the Air with New Compact Sensors
The Unitec (Italy) SENS-IT sensors are innovative, compact and low cost devices for environmental air quality monitoring. The SENS-IT sensors are the perfect solution for urban and industrial applications, landfill monitoring, smart city networks and mobile measurements. Featuring compact sizes and low power consumption, SENS-IT sensors are compliant with Data Quality Objectives of Indicative Measurement as defined by European Directive 2008/50/EC for. The SENS-IT sensors are based on Unitec’s proprietary technology: Thick Film – Metal Oxide Semiconductor (TF-MOS) that ensures great performances, comparable with traditional reference analysers. Each SENS-IT sensor is specific to a single pollutant gas (CO, NO2, O3, C6H6 …) with extremely high sensitivity and selectivity (also at low ppb levels!). Each sensor is engineered in an anodised aluminum case with new embedded electronic board for totally digital control of sensor performances. The RS485 interface permits users to easily integrate the sensors into existing devices or monitoring networks, digitally control all the functioning parameters and calibrate them also from remote (analog output is also available). The SENS-IT sensors don’t need maintenance, have no lifetime limit and no consumable parts; Unitec just suggest a calibration every 6/12 months!

for your CEMS requirement in hazardous areas MRU system SWG300-1 for use in hazardous area zone 2 Class 1, Div 2, Gr B-D - II3G Ex pz II T3/T6
MRU GmbH is the German company designing and manufacturing flue gas analyzers since 1984.
For hazardous areas of refineries or petrochemical plants we designed a field proven, minimal maintenance, turn-key system for safe and continuous, dry extractive method of continuous flue gas analysis, using: •
pressurized cabinet IP65 with continuous instrument air purge, special air conditioner and arctic equipment for ambient temperature from -45°C to +55°C
• complete sample conditioning with hazardous area rated, heated gas sampling probe, heated gas sampling line, special heated acid mist catch and drain, electric gas cooler, gas and aerosols filtration, strong and regulated gas sampling pump
•
infrared analysis of CO, NOx, SO2, CH4 and CO2 using gas filled cells for automatic calibration without need of external permanently attached gas cylinders, paramagnetic cell for O2 measurement
• human-machine interface with local large display, user free settable 8 channel analog outputs and RS485 Modbus digital data transfer

New Continuous Particulate and Metals Monitor
Horiba (UK) is pleased to announce the release of their new continuous particulate and metals monitor the PX-375.
In recent years there have been growing concerns regarding particulate matter and its elemental composition and its effects on human health. With this in mind Horiba developed the PX-375 that can monitor PM2.5, PM10 and Total Suspended Particulate Matter. The PX-375 can also measure the elemental composition of the dust which can aid with source apportionment which can mean the correct preventative measures are put in place.
The PX-375 uses two different technologies (Beta Attenuation and X-Ray Fluorescence) which are housed in a single 19” case. Remote operation can be undertaken using a network connection
helping to minimise time spent on site.
With the new two layer non-woven PTFE filter tape, designed by Horiba, there is an improvement in detection sensitivity and with the integrated CMOS camera you are able to observe the collected sample and store images.
Running costs are also reduced as there is no vacuum pump or liquid nitrogen which are used in other X-ray fluorescence detectors.

Real Time, Low Level Monitoring Made Easy
For More Info, email: email:
To coincide with the launch of its new website, ESS (UK) is pleased to introduce the 2016 model of its class-leading EcoSys-P portable Mass Spectrometer system.
EcoSys-P now features two direct analysis inlets as standard (user interchangeable), and is capable of monitoring virtually any compound to ppm or ppb level. The capillary inlet is used for general analysis applications, and this actively draws sample at 20 ml/min into the mass spectrometer, giving a staggering response time of just 120mS, ensuring that all events are captured.
For More Info, email: email:
The second inlet is the membrane inlet, this has been specially designed for ultra low level VOC monitoring, and has a response time of just 0.2 seconds, with detection levels for most VOCS down to single figure ppb levels, making it ideal for applications such as: Fugitive emissions monitoring, Gas scrubber monitoring, VOC’s, Terpenes, Exhaust monitoring, and Stack/duct monitoring.
EcoSys-P has been designed to meet a broad range of Environmental and Process gas applications, and its rugged, modular form and ease of use means that it is suited to the most demanding of operational environments.
