Air Monitoring New Up Grades for Air Quality & Dust Monitor
UNITEC S.r.l. (Italy) has further upgraded its field-proven microprocessor-based air quality monitor ETL3000, by adding an optional light scattering particulate module, PM10-LS, and providing the measuring system with new VPN functionalities achieved by means of a multi standard GPRS/EDGE/3G router.
ETL3000 is equipped with up to 5 SENS3000 Plug&Play cells, each one specifically designed for monitoring CO, NO2, C6H6, O3, CH4, NOx, NH3, H2S
and SO2. In addition air temperature, relative humidity and noise can be simultaneously measured. SENS3000 is based on thick-film sensors, a solid state technology which takes advantage of nano-structured Metallic Oxides Semiconductors. mPM10-LS module includes pump, inlet head,
particulate detector and the pneumatic line. The main microprocessor handles all activities, including data acquisition, data treatment and storage, automatic daily zero calibration and data transmission. Two different cyclones can be fitted at the inlet line, in order to determine PM2,5 or PM10 fractions.
ETL3000 is specifically designed for outdoor installations and offers an “Eco-friendly” impact. It can be effectively used, for instance, by local Authorities, Industrial Wastes and Building Yards
to monitor air quality at ppb level. ETL3000 provides quality data at an affordable price, requiring low maintenance with a low cost of ownership. Along with the ETL3000, UNITEC S.r.l. portfolio
includes following additional instruments, internally designed and all dedicated to the environmental monitoring: LSPM10, light scattering dust monitor (PTS, PM2,5 and PM10); AIRGENIUS, outdoor light scattering dust monitor combined with a sequential sampler; OGD3000 multi gas calibrator; AIR3000, zero air generator; MGA, multi gas analyser.

HygroFlex5 – The Intelligent Transmitter
The new HygroFlex5 by Rotronic (Switzerland) series is the latest development in HVAC transmitters for relative humidity, temperature and dew point. Users benefit from its unique product advantages: freely selectable and scalable analogue outputs and which is network- capable, thanks to the digital outputs; in addition, it can handle all psychrometric calculations and can be updated via the internet. The series offers maximum reproducibility (<0.02%RH) and guarantees a system precision of <0.8 %RH and 0.1 K. The load impedance can be up to 500 Ohm.
The HygroFlex5 is available as a duct-mounted (use in ventilation ducts) or wall-mounted (use in technical areas) version. All sorts of different probe types can be connected to the transmitter. Customers can choose, for example, between a standard climate probe (wall or duct mounting), for use in the range -40….100° or an industrial probe for process applications. Area of use 0…100 %RH, - 100…200 °C and 0...400 bar (0...5800 PSI).

Cooling ceilings, critical areas in HVAC and technical installations, which are operating close to the dewpoint temperature, need an early alarm system against the forming of moisture, because of the potential danger of condensation.
The new condensation monitor EE46 from E+E Elektronik (Austria) is specially designed for such applications and can be installed in a few seconds on pipelines, walls, and ceilings.
The early detection of “danger of condensation” and as a result the immediate start of counter measures renders this product as very significant.
A special coating protects the sensor and electronics against dirt and dust – a guarantee for a longstanding, stable and above all maintenance free operation.
The fast response, high accurate E+E humidity sensor is exposed to the temperature of the
surface of the object by means of a thermal conducting foil. Therefore, the humidity sensor measures the same relative humidity as is present at the surface of the object to be monitored.
If the preset set point of 90 %RH is exceeded the EE46 switches a potential free contact and provides a signal enabling to take early counter measures, e.g. to increase the temperature of the water in the pipe, to decrease the cooling power or to turn on the heat. In addition, a LED on the enclosure indicates the actual status.
The condensation monitor of the Series EE46 is designed to be powered by 24 V ac/dc and is the ideal solution for the early detection of condensation – another innovative member of the E+E HVAC assortment.

The new gas analyser series EL3060 unifies ABB (UK) measuring techniques with many years of competence in continuous monitoring of gases for hazardous areas. The completely flameproof housing fulfills all the requirements of Category II 2G and due to its high safety standards can be used in plants with potentially explosive gas atmospheres of Zone 1 and Zone 2.
The series EL3060 is convincingly compactly built. The paramagnetic oxygen and thermal conductivity analysers have been dramatically reduced in size and can therefore be integrated into the housing of the control unit. The Infrared Photometer is built into its own flameproof housing. This assures the possibility to make use of all the available options.
The paramagnetic oxygen Analyser Magnos206, as well as the thermal conductivity analysers Caldos27 and Caldos25, can be combined with the Infrared Photometer Uras26. This means that complex measuring requirements measuring up to five components with one device, using one control unit and one indicating device, is possible.
The control unit is equipped with a separate terminal box which is completely protected. This way the customer can safely and easily connect flexible signal lines for analog and digital output, Profibus or Modbus, as well as status signals, without compromising the hazardous area protection.
The multi-lingual, menu driven operating interface enables the analyzer to be intuitively operated. The menu structure is consistent for all the Analyzers and is equivalent to the approved EasyLine series. Touch Keys are actuated through an explosion-proof glass pane. This makes the operation safe and continually reliable without the housing having to be opened.
