ITT Completes Acquisition of Nova Analytics, a Global Leader in Analytical Instrumentation
IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS 2010: A Great Success for the Leading Environmental Technologies in China
This year’s IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS, the first joint trade fair organised by Messe München International (MMI) and Shanghai ZM International Exhibition Co., Ltd., is proud to announce that it welcomed a high number of visitors and exhibitors. The International Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Refuse and Recycling attracted more than 22,000 trade visitors from 84 countries. The top five international visitor countries and regions were China, Korea, Japan, Germany and Taiwan.
"Due to IFAT CHINA’s strong international profile and the significant position of EPTEE + CWS in China, a joint
event has been created which is without doubt the largest and most important trade fair for environmental technologies in China," said Eugen Egetenmeir, Managing Director of Messe München International.
ITT Corporation (USA) announce it has completed the acquisition of Nova Analytics. Nova is a privately held, leading manufacturer of premium quality laboratory, field, portable, and on- line analytical instruments used in water and wastewater, environmental, medical, and food and beverage applications, with recognised brands such as WTW®
, SI Analytics® Bellingham + Stanley® , Aanderaa® and Global Water®
, ebro® .
, The acquisition expands ITT’s presence
in categories adjacent to its core businesses and builds on its global leadership positions in key markets.
“We’re excited to offer Nova’s portfolio of
recognised testing and instrumentation brands alongside our own in the fluid technology and food and beverage spaces, enabling us to build a strong platform in the $6 billion global analytical instrumentation market," said Gretchen McClain, president of ITT Fluid and Motion Control. "Combining Nova’s branded instrument and sensor portfolio with our current offerings will allow us to better address all of ITT’s and Nova’s customers’ operating and monitoring needs, and assist them in optimising and controlling their operating and construction expenses."
Nova employs approximately 725 people in
Germany, Norway, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and China, and generated pro forma full year global revenues of approximately US$135 million in 2009.

Jiang Gang, General Manager of Shanghai ZM International Exhibition Co., Ltd. also highlighted the first time’s joining hands: "The successful cooperation of IFAT CHINA and EPTEE & CWS has enabled the trade show to expand in exhibition space, exhibitor and visitor numbers, and in exhibition quality. It not only integrates the trade show resources, but also provides a broader platform for the industry. We are building jointly the biggest environmental technology trade show in China, and at the same time endeavoring to promote its international influence, especially in Asia. "
At IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS 2010, the demand for exhibition space was very strong, thus the show covered 40,000 sqm. All in all, 839 companies from 26 countries presented their new products and services at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from 5 – 7 May. 43 percent of the exhibitors came from abroad. The top five exhibiting countries and regions were China, Germany, Korea, The United States, and Taiwan.
"The large number of Chinese companies that participated in this event underscores the fact that IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS has arrived on the Chinese domestic environmental-technology scene. The show benefits from the fact that, from the very beginning, the fair’s organizers have made room for presentations that focus on planning and administrative challenges and not just technical solutions" said Dr. Fritz Holzwarth, Deputy Director-General Water Management of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
Wentang Pan, Chairman of China Environment Chamber of Commerce (CECC), and Vice General Manager of
Beijing Capital Co., Ltd. pointed out: "It is a very wise decision that China Environment Chamber of Commerce joined IFAT CHINA + EPTEE + CWS. We benefit a lot from the well organized and high international trade show. The presence of key chamber members also brings new highlights."
The Chinese Society of Environment Sciences (CSES) held their Annual Conference on the trade fair grounds, attended by 1,500 participants. This conference
was opened by Zhou Jian, Vice Minister of China Environmental Protection Ministry, who also paid a visit to the trade fair. Other politicians, such as Nikolaus Berlakovich, Austrian Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, and Gilad Erdan, Israeli Minister of Environmental Protection also visited the show with their delegations.
