Air Monitoring Emissions Monitor Enjoys Highly Successful MCERTS 2011 Event
With emissions monitoring as the central theme, the recent MCERTS 2011 event proved extremely successful for instrumentation company Quantitech (UK). Sales Director Dominic Duggan reported a high level of participation in the company’s workshops on Dioxins sampling and FTIR emissions monitoring, and added "The launch of the new Horiba PG250 SRM drew a lot of attention and we were delighted that so many of our customers and prospects took time to visit our exhibition stand and workshops."
The first Quantitech workshop on long term continuous Dioxin sampling systems was given by Gilles Campagnola from TCR Tecora. Commenting on the high level of interest, Gilles said he was delighted with the number of attendees because whilst his company has sold many long term sampling systems (DECS) in mainland Europe, none has yet been installed in the UK. "We hope that the interest shown in the Workshop will translate into a need for the improved accuracy that long term Dioxins sampling can deliver," he added.
Quantitech’s second Workshop on FTIR, delivered by Dominic Duggan, was also well attended. “We took the opportunity to highlight applications that are beyond the standard WID and LCPD monitoring systems, such as carbon capture and emissions from anaerobic digestion plants.” Dominic also invited attendees to register for a free one day seminar on FTIR monitoring that Quantitech will run in June.

BAM1020 Real-Time Ambient Particulate Monitor Wins MCERTS Approval
On behalf of Met One Instruments (USA), air quality monitoring specialists, Enviro Technology (UK) were presented with an MCERTS certificate for the BAM-1020 continuous ambient particulate monitor at the recent annual MCERTS 2011.
Under strict UK and European laws, businesses and organisations which release emissions into the air must carefully monitor their discharge to the environment. To this end, the equipment used to measure these emissions must meet stringent guidelines and be fully fit for purpose, the primary purpose of MCERTS certification.
The same holds true for the measurement of ambient air quality for which the BAM1020 has been specifically designed for.
The MCERTS certificate awarded to Met One and presented to Enviro Technology is official recognition that the BAM-1020 has achieved a very high standard which meets the Environment Agency’s rigorous performance requirements. The certification covers both PM10 and PM2.5.

New Instrument Finance Packages Prove Popular at MCERTS 2011
Ashtead Technology (UK) enjoyed a successful appearance at MCERTS 2011, the dedicated air monitoring event, during which the company launched a new range of commercial packages, created to both expand the availability of the latest technology and to reduce costs.
Ashtead Technology is famous for its vast range of rental instrumentation. However, visitors to MCERTS 2011 were introduced to new financial packages which help to spread the cost of either renting or purchasing advanced environmental monitoring instrumentation.
The new schemes include the ‘Perpetual Rental Program’ (PRP) and the ‘Rent To Own’ (RTO). These schemes can be applied to a selection of popular instruments including the Horiba PG250 and the Testo 350 portable emissions analyser.
Summarising the event, Ashtead Technology’s General Manager Alan Hasson said: “MCERTS 2011 was highly successful for us. We stock the most popular emissions monitoring and gas detection products and we received several new business leads. Our overall aim is to put the right instruments into the hands of those that need them and with our financial packages we are able to meet customers’ differing needs."
