28 Analytical Instrumentation Changing the game in QC: FTIR quantifi cation anyone can master
Anton Paar has announced a new feature on its FTIR spectrometer, Lyza 7000. The newly available quantifi cation functionality introduces a fast, straightforward, and accessible option to create calibrations directly with the instrument. The feature was designed to simplify the setup process and elevate quality control (QC) to the next level. The guided setup process enables users of all experience levels to create their own quantifi cation method with FTIR, and Lyza 7000’s pioneering software allows seamless integration into quality control (QC) workfl ows.
Lyza 7000 is a powerful and versatile FTIR spectrometer designed specifi cally to meet the needs of modern quality control environments. The standalone benchtop spectrometer is known for its dependable results, durable design and innovative embedded software, empowering users of all experience levels to operate it effi ciently. Its cube-corner interferometer ensures unmatched stability and precision with every measurement. Lyza 7000 offers an innovative solution for material identifi cation, verifi cation, and now also quantifi cation.
FTIR quantifi cation is a powerful tool, but its implementation often requires specialised knowledge and experience. Lyza 7000 addresses this challenge by offering a straightforward, guided setup that ensures that even operators with minimal training can achieve consistent, accurate results. The instrument walks users step-by- step through the quantifi cation setup, minimising errors and saving valuable time. The possibility to smoothly integrate it into quality control methods makes it an ideal solution for industries with demanding QC requirements, such as pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and polymers.
One of the most valuable aspects of this update is the ability to seamlessly integrate traditional QC FTIR methods – such as spectral comparison – with the new quantifi cation feature. This combination enhances the power of Lyza 7000, allowing users to leverage both methodologies for a more comprehensive analysis. The result is a durable, multi-faceted approach to QC that delivers improved precision and greater confi dence in the results.

High performance, minimal footprint: New mini disperser series
IKA announces the launch of its latest innovation in high-shear dispersing technology: the T 18 mini digital and T 25 mini control. These new additions to the renowned ULTRA-TURRAX® precision dispersing, emulsifying, and homogenising in a compact, space-saving form.
family are designed to offer
The two devices, T 18 mini digital and T 25 mini control, are engineered to optimise laboratory workfl ows with their advanced features and user-friendly design. The dispersers feature an up to 40% smaller footprint than comparable models, making them ideal for even the tightest lab spaces. The smaller size and light weight, under 2 kg, also results in better ergonomics and easier handling for all users in the lab. The brushless DC motor ensures dust-free and quiet operation, suitable for cleanroom applications, while the large and clear TFT display provides an intuitive and easy-to-read interface for speed and timer settings. With their motor power of 160 watt, they are the perfect solution for any basic homogenising task up to 1.5 litres and viscosities of up to 2000 mPas.
Designed for modern laboratory environments, the new mini dispersers come with a full range of interfaces for software updates, device-to-device communication and integration with the laboratory software labworldsoft®
for automation and data logging. The timer and counter functions facilitate
unattended operation, ensuring safe working conditions and reproducible and consistent results. The T 25 mini control model offers additional advantages, including dispersing tools with a patented
temperature sensing function, that monitor medium temperature in real-time. Safety temperature settings protect sensitive samples from degradation, while the compatibility with ‘easy-clean’ dispersing tools ensures quick and effi cient cleaning, saving valuable time in the lab.

Titan Enterprises announces the launch of the enhanced Pulsite®
Link pulse and analogue converter,
now featuring an LCD display. This upgrade, developed in response to customer feedback, allows for local indication of fl ow rate and total output from the installed pulse fl owmeter. The display also includes local and remote reset options for the totaliser, along with seamless PC integration via USB and Titan’s interface software.
“Integrating the display and necessary electronics into such a compact design posed signifi cant challenges,” said Neil Hannay, Senior Development Engineer at Titan Enterprises. “Through collaboration with our PCB manufacturer, we achieved a compact design by mounting the remodelled single PCB directly onto the display within the unit’s restricted dimensions.”
The Pulsite® Link enables users to convert common
pulse output fl ow meters - such as Titan’s precision turbine and positive displacement fl owmeters - into scaled and linearised analogue and NPN/PNP outputs. Since its launch, over a hundred units have been sold, making it an ideal choice for general industrial applications.
In addition to the product development, several bug fi xes have been implemented in Titan’s proprietary interface software, which supports the Pulsite® as well as the Atrato®
and Metrafl ow® ultrasonic
fl owmeters. This software allows users to confi gure and test their systems via USB and computer, with the included USB stick easily inserted into the unit for real- time monitoring and data logging on a Windows PC.
The Pulsite® Link is the perfect instrument for
enhancing accuracy in mechanical fl ow devices, data monitoring, test rigs, and control systems.
