40 Safety New thermal camera includes labour saving software

FLIR Systems’ new thermal camera is the first to feature onboard Inspection Route software, ideal for streamlining inspections of critical assets, including power substation components, distribution lines, manufacturing equipment, or facility electrical and mechanical systems. By running a pre-planned route through the camera, thermal inspectors can spend less time in the field and face less hassle when creating survey reports.

Featuring the FLIR T-series camera platform’s award-winning design, the T860 has an ergonomic body, a vibrant LCD touchscreen visible from low angles, and an integrated colour viewfinder for sun glare conditions. The 640×480-resolution thermal camera incorporates FLIR’s advanced Vision Processing™, including patented MSX® UltraMax®

and image enhancement technologies to provide enhanced image clarity with

half the image noise of previous models. Pairing the T860 with an optional 6-degree telephoto thermal lens allows users to inspect energized targets from a safe distance or measure small targets with greater precision.

This thermal camera includes advanced measurement tools such as one-touch level/span and laser-assisted autofocus, which helps users quickly find problems and make critical decisions. It also features an onboard routing system that works with the FLIR Thermal Studio advanced reporting software to create numbered, labeled inspection routes that users can create from the camera. This system allows users to record temperature data, thermal, and visual imagery in a logical sequence for faster troubleshooting and repair.

A key feature of the T-Series product line is its ergonomic design, which reduces the strain of full-day inspections. A 180-degree rotating lens platform helps users diagnose hard-to-reach components at substations and on distribution lines. The T-Series also offers tools to optimise workflows, including Wi-Fi streaming to the FLIR Tools® customisable work folders.

mobile app for Android and iOS, in-camera GPS tagging, voice annotations, and

The T860 camera includes the new subscription-based software, FLIR Thermal Studio Pro. This professional-level program provides access to all the time saving features and benefits of FLIR Thermal Studio Pro as well as free software upgrades.

48497pr@reply-direct.com Why is gasoline called gasoline?

It’s got nothing to do with gas. Gasoline (American English for petrol) gets its name from John Cassell (1817–65), a Mancunian publisher, coffee merchant and temperance campaigner who began importing and distributing crude oil into Britain and Ireland from Pennsylvania in the 1860s. He called his product “Cazeline”, after himself, and sold it for indoor lamps.

City Technology are among the leaders in the global market in the design and manufacture of innovative and reliable gas sensors for use in personal and fixed life safety systems. They understand that every one of the 4.5 million sensors they make every year must work perfectly – 50 million people rely on them for their comfort and safety every day.

City Technology’s gas sensors are used to protect people and property from the dangers of toxic and flammable gas hazards in areas where industrial safety and air emissions are a major concern in market sectors such as the medical, automotive and residential/commercial safety.

City’s sensor technology is used in a wide variety of applications. For general industrial safety they are widely used for CO and H2

S detection in areas where robust and reliable measurements

are vital – such as coal and gold mines. They are also used to measure pollutants emitted from the sites. The City Technology sensors can also be widely found at medium to large cold stores, where NH3 is an important measurement parameter and in the ‘hi-tech’ industries such as semiconductor, photovoltaic, laboratories and rocket fuel production. They can also cater for more specialist, ‘exotic’ gases found in water treatment and pulp & paper plants, gold mines and the chemical industries.

With more than 300 products detecting 28 different gases, City Technology offers the widest range of gas sensors in the market today. Whether you monitor common hazardous gases or more exotic gases, they offer a solution in a format to suit the precise requirements of a specific application and instrument. Our new introduction, 1 Series gas sensors, is launched amidst increased market interest for the latest gas sensors from City Technology and its innovative form factor.
