liquids and good linearity in the range of 15 ppb to 20 ppm.
Lower limit of quantification (LOQ) and lower limit of detection (LOD) were calculated using repeated injections of the lowest standard (n=10). A response factor was calculated using the average area and the amount. The response factor was applied to the standard deviation and the LOD and LOQ was calculated by using 3 standard deviations and 10 standard deviations (see Table 3).
Conclusion
Alytech LiqMix Cascade was found to be a very valuable tool when it is required to generate a gas standard in wide concentration range from complex chemical mixtures, including liquids. The system dramatically accelerated the research work, reduced labour time of analytical chemists and saved a considerable amount of money by producing on-site hydrocarbons calibration gas mixtures down to ppb levels accurately and with high repeatability. Flexibility of the system and its GasMix software fit well to different analytical techniques and serve for linearity check, multipoint calibration, LOQ and LOD determination, and other analytical needs.

Spectrometer set to return to Gulf Coast Conference Every year, the Gulf Coast Conference (GCC) brings together hundreds of professionals in the petrochemical, refining, and environmental fields who vote on their top pick for best new technology. Keit developed a rugged FT-IR spectrometer, the IRmadillo, which won over the votes of the attendees to become the Best New Product Winner at the Gulf Coast Conference (GCC), Houston, Texas in January 2018 as showcased by US distributor, Quantum Analytics. The Keit instrument successfully demonstrated its true innovation in process analytical technology for continuous, online analysis with rugged features and
functionality.Keit will be returning to GCC in October 2018 with the IRmadillo to further demonstrate how the petrochemical industry can benefit from real-time reaction analysis for better process monitoring and control of production processes.

Expand ISO 17025 Accreditations The SGS Deer Park laboratory has expanded ISO 17025 accreditation to over 50 tests and 108 test methods, and is one of the first independent labs in the world accredited to ISO 17025 for crude oil assay distillation methods ASTM D2892 and D5236. The SGS Beaumont / Port Arthur Petroleum Laboratory in Texas has been awarded an expanded ISO 17025 Accreditation for over 40 tests by 100 test methods. Both laboratories were accredited by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board. The test methods covered under the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditations include petroleum industry standards such as ASTM, ISO, and IP test methods. The new accreditation is an expansion and renewal of a previously awarded accreditations.
