12, but no one called. I contacted the CSC and was told someone had attended that morning but couldn’t gain entry so they left. All they had to do was press my buzzer and I would have let them in. They could have also buzzed the concierge. This is not just a one-off. It happens on a regular basis.
James, Crathie Court Hi James. The inspectors arrived to measure up and couldn’t get access via controlled entry, which they said wasn’t working
of vouchers. We’ve also included this fantastic photo of a sunset, top, taken by GHA staff member Alec Gibson. Summer is here, so why not send in your holiday snaps? As usual, we’ll print the best ones.

at that time. There were no wardens around either. The inspectors have time slots for jobs and have to move on after a ‘no access’. After you’d contacted the CSC we got the job booked back in that afternoon, came back out and got it sorted for you. Hope this helps explain.
Dear the Key
In the last issue, Geraldine Bradley asked about publishing the results of the consultation of
increased rent charges. Your reply did not give details of when you will publish the results. We are aware that rent is for the repairs and investment. The next issue of the Key could you publish the results of the consultation of the tenants that took time to fill it in about rent increase. Jamie McCarroll Thanks for getting in touch, Jamie. We’ll be publishing the results of our consultation on the GHA website. Visit

Have your say on how GHA
lets its homes TENANTS are being asked for their views on how we let our homes. We have looked at the way we allocate houses and also at how we give people advice about their housing.
Our new proposals aim to make the
way we let homes clear to everyone and fair to people who are in the greatest housing need. We also want to make sure people are given honest advice about their chances of getting a home and help to find other solutions. The draft Advice, Information and
Letting Policy has been drawn up based on what tenants and those applying for a home have already told us. We have also taken into account wider changes such as welfare reform and a number of legal changes which have come into force. If our proposals were to go ahead, it
YOUNG people in Sighthill got their creative juices flowing at a series of workshops funded by the North East Area Committee. Hundreds of youngsters and their families tried Samba drumming and costume- making over the summer. The sessions were put on Springburn charity New Rhythms for Glasgow. would mean changes to our priority groups. This would affect the priority we give some people for a house. For example more priority would be given to:
• people being discharged from hospital but their current home is not suitable; • young care leavers; • current tenants experiencing
severe financial difficulties where a move would help them avoid homelessness;
• under 35s in need looking to get their first home;
• people who need to move
locally because of a change in circumstances - and by doing so their home would become available for others;
• people looking to move into amenity housing. People who are deemed to have no need for social housing would be unlikely to access a home with us. But we would give them advice tailored to their needs on other options including mid-market and full market homes. Make sure you have your say on
how we let homes. Tenants should all have received a copy of the consultation and a feedback form. You can also read more, and give your views, at
