Directors Cheryl F. Flood- Director Cheryl, a sixth generation Floridian,


grew up on a cattle ranch east of Lake Wales and has dedicated her career to promoting Florida Agriculture. A Flori- da Gator, Flood graduated in 1999 from the University of Florida’s with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Leadership Education. In September 2016, Flood was ap-


pointed to the position of Executive Director of the Florida State Fair Authority by Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam. Flood started her career with the Florida House of Rep- resentatives as a Legislative Aide to Representative Paula Dock- ery. In 2002, she joined the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under Commissioner Charles H. Bronson’s leadership as the Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs. From 2006-2010, she served as District Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for then Congressman Adam H. Putnam while serving in the United States House of Representative. Commissioner Putnam was elected Commissioner of Agriculture in January of 2011 and Flood returned to Tallahassee to the Department of Agriculture

torney with the 10th Judicial Circuit. They reside in Bartow and have a four year old daughter, Alexa. The Flood’s enjoy spending time as a family, traveling and enjoy the outdoors.


Robert Smith-Associate Director Robert Smith is the co-owner of


Robert Smith Presents along with his wife, Sara. Together they’ve created both Conjurer Fortune Ma- chine and the Play with Giants fam- ily fun zone. Their attractions have been seen at fairs across America including the OC Fair, New Mexico State Fair and Arizona State Fair. Here in Florida, the charming Con- jurer Fortune Machine has been seen at the St. Lucie County Fair, Sarasota County Fair and Osceola County Fair among oth- ers. In November of 2020 Robert started the Fair Game Podcast, a


show focused on telling the fair industry’s pandemic story. To date more than 100 guests have been featured on the program. Stories have been featured from fair managers to entertainers and concessionaires to carnival operators. The podcast is availa- ble on Apple, Spotify, Google, iHeartRadio as well as on Rob- ertSmithPresents.com.
