Gre ting rom NCA e s f I May has been a busy and productive month for NICA. The Board of Directors held its annual spring planning meeting
at the Hotel and Event Center where NICA Together: A Marketplace of networking, ideas, products, and services will be held. The Foundation Board of Trustees approved their fundraising brochure and future fundraising and giving schedules. On behalf of NICA, President Sandy Class CCE greeted the Zone 1 Meeting and 2nd VP Vincent Nelson CCE greeted the Zone 2 Meeting. NICA produced a NICA Sysco Marketplace Webinar that provided tips for “Jump Starting Your Fair Season” and
another one with WFA on “Building a Minimum Wage Workforce.” NICA proudly participated in the Florida Federation of Fairs Convention in Naples which was electric with the energy emanating from the opening of Florida Fairs. Congratulations!! While there, members presented “The Changing Landscape of Commercial Exhibits” and “What Can NICA Do 4 Me?” topics at the Convention and participated in the “Are You a New Fair Manager” panel and the Vendors & Concessionaires Roundtable. All our strategic planning committees (Membership, Benefits, Voice in the Industry and Financial) have met for the
first time this year and set their 2021 goals. If you would like to serve on one of these committees, please contact the office at 813-438-8926. The Peer-to-Peer Resource Center is gaining viewership, and the Communication Committee brochure is the most requested resource piece. At the end of this month, NICA signed an agreement with Goodyear Tires for Commercial and Consumer Tires and Road Service at fleet rates for our members. Watch for the rollout. See you at the Fair!!!
Florida Fair Rides Advisory Council This council assists in advising the Florida Department of Agricul- ture and Consumer Services on issues regarding amusement devices and the attraction industry.
