Faircracker SUMMER 2021

GREATER HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY FAIR From Ferris Wheels to Wagon Wheels…the 2021 Hillsborough County Fair is less

than 100 days from opening day! We are excited that this year the 27th annual Hills- borough County Fair will be held Sept 23 through October 3. Kicking off the fall fairs, we have had to move up our traditional dates a month to accommodate a carnival

change. We will run 8 days (Thurs-Sun) for 2 weeks and have new entertainment, new arena events and an expanded carnival. In addition, we have added to our youth livestock program that now has 11 species. We will hold a market steer, swine,

market lamb, market turkey, market broiler, beef, dairy, sheep, goat, poultry, and rabbit show with over 650 youth exhibi- tors from Hillsborough County. We will hold a “Market Weekend” the first weekend of the fair, with an intermin- gled live auction for all 5 market animal species. Also, joining the lineup of special arena events of 2

nights of rodeo, 2 nights of truck and tractor pull and one Demolition Derby show, will be the Hero’s Day the Hills- borough County Fair presented by McDonald’s Casper’s Company. Our arena will be filled with local heroes in- cluding local police, fire, and EMS from within Hills- borough County. The Hero’s Day will be featured presentations to each department in attendance, free entertainment for fair guests and a “meet and greet” with our local heroes. With 2020 bringing many challenges, the Hillsborough

County Fair is bouncing back stronger than ever with the upcoming 2021 Fair. We are preparing to follow all local and state guidelines that may be in place when it comes time for our fair, but plan on having a full fair with all buildings, exhibits and activities open. Our fair staff and group of wonderful volunteers are excited to be one of the first fairs this fall and set the pace for rest of the fall fairs in Florida. In addition to planning for the annual county fair, the

fairgrounds also have some exciting events we are planning for the Halloween weekend and during the Christmas Holidays! We are also back in full swing with non-fair rentals of the facilities booking more rentals in 2021 and 2022 than we ever have in the past.

The future in looking bright here at the Hills- borough County Fairgrounds and whether it is a Ferris Wheel or a Wagon Wheel…we are on a wheel rolling forward to success!
